Modding Tools to Check Code?

Hi!

I have had interesting time going through the tuning files in The Sims 4 to see how the game works. I have even checked some game files in The Sims 2.

Yet for The Sims 3, I can't find any mod tools that allows me to check the game code. I'd would really like to see what The Sims 3 code has to offer.

Any options or suggestions? Any help is appreciated!

  • EgonVM  The mod you want is NRaas Retuner.  It doesn't cover table-based tuning but is an excellent place to start.  Select NRaas > Retuner > Settings > General > By Tunable XML, and you'll see a very long list of categories that you can dive into.  I'd suggest checking Sims3.Gameplay.Skills first.

This page of members' Retuner settings is also useful both for the settings themselves and for showing how to find the kinds of settings you want.

The NRaas site offers a file called FullEATuning that you can search if you're looking for something specific.  The site isn't loading for me now, but if the download isn't on the above page, it should be here:

Thank you so much. I'll take some time and then see what it has to offer.
