Mods/tuning for better butlers?

The concept of having butler is pretty neat, especially for households with multiple children and working parents. However there are some things that I didn't like about them: mainly the fact that they cook too often (the food piles up in the kitchen) and they tend to disappear and get replaced randomly. I also find that they can't be given enough orders, like repair things, get back to work etc. I found two mods that address the cooking bit, one at MTS and one at NaughtySimsAsylum, however both of them are quite old and I decided to steer clear of unknown mods (especially old ones) after struggling for almost a month to fix my game after some bad cc issues. So I wanted to ask the community here if you're using any mods to make the butlers more useful, or maybe you do some tuning yourselves? Thanks for any comments.
