I don't believe this is CC. I've had a similar problem. Something is causing the simspack to display as an 'object', and for some reason this makes custard think that EA content (in your case the easel) is CC when it's not.
What turned out to be causing the problem for me was a digital photoframe. Do you have any of those on your lot?
