The NRaas Traveler mod allows, by option, the sending of sims to Uni with friends from other local households. You end up with a playable combined household on the Uni side. When the term is over and the group returns home, the other sims automatically go back to their original households. We can make the fellow travelers/Uni students unselectable if we want them to operate in Uni strictly under their own autonomy, but either way the travel group does need to stay together and be one temporary Uni "household."
The sims from the other households must really be friends, with a relationship score of +40 or higher I think it is to be eligible to join the travel party. The sim initiating the travel/enrollment sequence gets billed for the travel, everyone's tuition, and ends up paying everyone's expenses along the way while in Uni World, but that can be settled up using household money transfers by way of MasterController after the term is over if necessary. This is the same mechanism that allows us to send sims on vacations with friends and loved ones from other local households without having to keep moving them in together and apart again after the trip/term is over.
