I can just add my experience, even though I don't have enough points for proper statistics. Travels to WA worlds and university always broke something in my sims' hometown, which sometimes took quite a while to fix (WA trips broke more). Since I started using Traveler, this has become much less of an issue. Just saying.
That is quite odd. In my gen challenge game, I always sent my newlyweds on a honeymoon to some WA destination and I haven't had a problem with that save. I suppose if I stay with my current plan, we'll find out since I'll be moving 6 kids to one house, and moving them all to University together. Since I'm playing 6 different families, I guess we'll see if that messes anything up. Note that I've never played University so it will be an experience.
Seeing as my 2nd gen are 3-day-old toddlers, it's going to be a while. I suppose I could send a family or two on vacation and see if anything gets flaky. But frankly, most of them are pretty broke (no one has more than 19k and most have just a few thousand).
I won't use any young again potions. I think I've only used one EVER and that was because I had one of my Sims marry a Sim she had met, only to find out he was almost a senior (she was young adult). I didn't consider it a cheat since there is no way to figure out how old someone is until you move them in.
