Problem with Default Replacements

I’m a long time simmer who has recently returned to playing Sims 3. After downloading everything again, I can’t seem to get my default replacement eyes or skin to show up.
Other CC appears in game, and the default replacements for animals show up, but not the sim eyes and skin.
Could 1.69 be conflicting with them?
I need some tech savvy friends to help me out here. :(
