Rabbit Gnomes Appearing Next To Beds

Something has always perplexed me about Sims. Why do I keep getting rabbit gnomes, and next to beds no less?
I don't know how long it's been going on or when it started or if it was a base-game thing but every now and again when my sims woohoo they appear. I can't recall it happening in any other circumstance and never next to a single bed.

It never occurred to me why it happens until it happened twice in a game (over the course of a Sim week) with my now married sims and I only understood it after they decided to try for a baby. They're comparing my sims to rabbits... Little gnomes in rabbit suits with Easter eggs on the hat.

I'm 20 and we're going to file that under jokes I didn't understand until I was older (I started playing Sims 1 when I was 10)

Sims and subliminal jokes everyone :p

  • I don't think I've ever seen this. Are you sure it isn't a freezer bunny gnome?
  • It wasn't, it had a gnome face and pointy cone hat with the beard, it was just wearing the rabbit suit. I looked it up, apparently the gnome comes from the Seasons expansion (I suspected as much, given the easter egg)

Edit: They can appear when hunting for eggs in the Seasons lot or when sims are woohooing in spring and they can be exchanged for 500 festival tickets instead of the usual 1000 simoleons
  • That's the gnome of Spring. They do multiply and turn up together.
  • Yes, it's the spring gnome, and they especially like to appear in the bedroom when sims woohoo. Once one of them appeared right outside the bathroom when my married couple woohooed in the shower. It was facing toward the shower.

    Bucktooth Butternut
This gnome has a chance of showing up in a Sim's inventory when collecting eggs at the spring festival in the Seasons expansion. Appears quite frequently when Sims garden as well. May also appear when WooHooing, in spring. This magical gnome will usually teleport nearby Sims who are WooHooing. Can be redeemed for 500 tickets at the Spring Concession Stand.

So what does it mean when one appears in my kitchen in the middle of fall?

In TS3 it would tend to mean that sims have recently woohooed there. Or that the game thinks they have. Are you playing TS3 though or TS4 (just glancing at your posting history...), this thread is from years ago and is on the TS3 section of the forum.
