Sure. But if you double-click on those .package files, then your computer will attempt to open them in S3PE (if you still have it installed). If you right-click, then you should be able to specify the program you really want them opened in using Open With.
The challenge here is that multiple programs use .package file format files for totally different things. Windows can't differentiate between them, to the operating system it's all one file type hence all one file association.
