Forum Discussion
Same username as the previous forum. I didn't really become active playing The Sims 3 until 2021, where I continued from a save I started in 2016 when I still only had the base game.
During 2020 I bought the University Life expansion pack, probably in anticipation of the younger generation growing up and going to university.
When I joined the forum in early 2021 I had just finished making (or was in the process of finishing) my first town using the Create a World tool, which I called Sprottenham - and that's where my username comes from.
Shortly thereafter I started my thread, "The People of Simbria" and placed my Sunset Valley save and the town of Sprottenham into a larger context - on a map of a country called "The United Kingdom of Simbria".
Then as the kids of Sunset Valley grew up and it was time for some of them to go to university, a new town was added to the map - Lake Onebega (University town). Somewhere in between here I also got the Seasons Expansion Pack, because, well, weather.
Then the packs just began to pile on, and a few more towns were added, most importantly the town of Bewickton (Twinbrook), and I kept on rotating between these four places.
A couple of years after that - in 2023 - I had my blog up and running. I had figured that rotating between four different towns in one thread was getting a little disorganized, and my blog was/is an attempt at doing that a little better. So my blog really consists of one 'Main Page' or 'Landing Hub' and then links to the other towns on a side panel.
On the Main Page I also make a new post for each post in the towns with a link to the actual post itself. So, here are the links to the Main Hub and the individual town blogs:
The People of Simbria
Town: Sunset Valley
Town: Lake Onebega (University)
Town: Sprottenham
Town: Bewickton (Twinbrook)
I also made another town called Lagash which I used for a supernatural story called "The Red Winged Angels", then a smaller town called Warenford which is mostly just an airport and some farmland a few km. to the northwest of Sprottenham.
Old town of Lagash. Lagash is in a completely different universe from the 'The People of Simbria' story, and has no connection to it. Or does it?
And then I built the city of Wad Nahadau - my biggest project yet - which unfortunately will forever remain unfinished, because in the meantime the EA App was launched and made it so that I couldn't access Edit in Game to save the lots to the town itself....
My story thread was transferred to this forum, but it was all without the images, of course, so I don't know if I'll use it, make a new one or if I'll just stick to my blog...
So.. the old forum was a major contribution to me expanding the story as much as I did - and buying the expansion packs. If I had been met with this 'forum' back then, I don't think any of this would have happened.....
