how do u know which file is the corrupted one :?: :)
It's the one with the name of the save you have problems with. Mine was called Applepolossa, so when you go to documents> Electronic Arts> saves; you should find the save with the name you placed when you saved your game.

I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU RIGHT NOW. Many thanks. I am so appreciative of this and it is now bookmarked. I have had such an ordeal within the past 2 days.
This whole problem for me was my fault: I downloaded a possibly damaging mod for my game carelessly. I think this is what caused the corruption. All of my games corrupted, but there was only one I really cared about.
I had my previous game that I had worked SO hard on crash in a completely irreversible way. I was heartbroken. I am now on my 3rd generation in my current game, and I was DETERMINED to not let this one slip through my fingers.
I first deleted the suspicious mod, then followed what you said step by step. When I tried to restart my computer as the last step though, I ran into a different problem. My entire operating system crashed and failed. I got the "blue screen of death", and I tried EVERYTHING to restore my computer, nothing worked. I was so scared I screwed with my hardware. Then, after some unsuccessful digging, I tried to think intuitively and fix my own problems, as you did with the corruption problem. I found on my own that there was a problem with the sims game drive and it was messing with the reboot of my computer. I simply ejected the game disc and viola! It worked fine now, even after reinserting the disc.
And when I brought the game up again, MY SIMS WERE BACK! AND I HAD NO SAVE LAG, IT WAS EXACTLY WHERE I LEFT OFF! I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW! Thank you so much, I will be sharing this with anyone who has a corruption problem. It is unbelievably helpful and really works.
Well, let me tell you, I will never be downloading sketchy mods ever again. That was absolutely terrifying. Especially the computer start up problem. Thanks again, you are wonderful.
No problem! I learned my lesson a long time ago about mods, so I hope you are careful in the future with them!
I'm glad to be of help!
