Fid, it's ok mate, as you said it is the holiday season now that we are entering so things will get quiet but there are alot of loyal people here that always post. If this thread had no use it would never have come close to 1,000 pages.
I personally have been workin my tail off at a new job for the upcoming silly season and I'm sure I am not the only one.
I am also thinking that there are alot of new builders floating around here that have not quite realized how great this thread is, some of us wouldn't be where we currently are with out building skills if it were not for yourself and everyone else that contributes and tutors others, giving out sage advice to those of use that have needed it.
We thank you Fid for all your hard work, patience, enthusiasm and eye for detail, keep it up mate!

Spectrefiend,
I appreciate that, but maybe this thread really has reached it's pinnacle. It maybe the original, but definitely not the only one available.
For one thing is that it is not what I wanted it to be and that is a community thread that everyone feels free to participate in with whatever way they'd like to participate. Also to allow freedom for others to start projects on their own within the thread, but that just never seem to take off either.
What I think is the biggest thing hindering this thread is me. Everyone takes this as just being my thread; not their own. What I'd like to expect is that the idea of closing this thread down is not up to me but everyone and anyone else who wants to continue it. If for some reason I just disappeared one day and never came back on, that this thread would continue anyway.
I'm sorry to say but I don't think that's the case. If I am not here; maybe this thread would just disintegrate into nothing. It would become just a passing memory to the builders of the Sims environment. Then, I have been wrong before but surely, the time will come to see if that is true or not. And, maybe that time is now.
I do like critiquing houses and I've enjoyed doing that over time. I also like to hear other people's opinions of houses; especially my own houses. I love to hear praise, but only if I think it's deserved and not just being nice. I'd like to think that if I do get praise from someone, it is because they actually feel I've earned it. That's why I never have a problem with someone telling me something negative about my own houses. I don't always agree with the critique, but I sure appreciate someone being honest enough to give it to me. In the end, it is always up to each of us to accept or reject what others say, but never feel offended, or at least never let anyone know we're offended.
If you show others your offended by what they say, you'll basically be telling everyone that you only want to hear nice things, so either others will learn to either just compliment your work, or don't say anything at all. Guess who really is the loser when that happens; the person who got offended. Now they'll just keep building and making the same mistakes and never learning anything.
I'm going to try and get through to that 1,000 page marker and celebrate the good times this thread has had since we started it. But it's maybe like Diana Ross sang a while back; "Nothing Last Forever".
I will say that I hope by the middle of this next year, I'll be starting a new website, or at least changing the one that I already have to a website that will partly be a Sims fan website. It will also have other aspects to it and may also become a website for several types of game enthusiast; not just simmers. It may also have some online games available before I'm done with it.
What it will have is a forum and a private message system. I know we already have several of those available but I intend this one to be different. The main difference is going to be the several different aspects of the website besides just a place to come and talk. I can't go into detail of my plans because surely as I spoke them out, someone who at least lurks on this thread will steal my ideas. So I will wait until I get it started.
At that time, this thread will probably come to an end unless others want to keep it going, because I'll obviously place it over at that website instead.
Thanks for your vote of confidence there Spectrefiend; it's always nice to hear.
