I was just kidding around. When I read Preston's traits, I immediately thought of some guys I knew in college who could easily have been summed up that way, and then my mind went to someone more famous in the same vein. But those guys were in fact a lot of fun, perhaps more than was strictly healthy; of course, isn't that what college is for? And if Fern is happy (and her dog likes Preston), that's what matters.
P.S. There are always indoor pools, but how do surfers usually spend their time in the winter? Snowboarding, of course.
