sim stuck in bed and reset not working..

as the title says... my sim child was sleeping for the night and he has woken up but got stuck in the bed. i used resetSim... but all that did was move him out of the bed to next to the bed in the same laying down position...

iv exited my game without saving and tried again but it happened once more. iv tried edit town to evict but i get a pop up saying 'you cannot enter edit town while a sim in your household is dying' ... what the flip!!

im out of ideas and currently very frustrated.. iv only just started playing again due to work commitments and was SO excited when i saw the new stuff pack but when i started playing the game is full of glitches.. i wish i had known that before i wasted my money

if u guys know how to fix this please help me and thanks in advance ;)

  • I dont know if this will work but have you tried moveobjects on and move
them from the bed and then try the reset sim

  • Twallan's debugenabler mod will help with this (yes, get overwatch to keep the spawning cars and homeless sims in check). My sims progressed from stuck to levitating to invisible. Debugenabler fixed those affected and the problem has NOT happened since.

If you're not keen on mods then see if you can go back to an earlier save (the backup for this game should be noted as that) and you may be lucky. Unfortunately the game seems to get corrupted and it doesn't always show up until it's too late and your sims are levitating (next stop, invisible). I found this that might help...

    Hi there.

Try this procedure for retrieving your backup save games:

    1.) Go to: My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves
2.) You will see a list of your game saves, one "regular" save, and one backup
3.) Simply delete the corrupted file and then right click the backup file and choose "rename"
4.) Remove the .backup portion of the file name and your save will be restored to the most recent backup.

  • 45rpm is giving u good advise. It's the order that u have to do it in.

first 'moveObjects on' then "resetSim First Name Last Name.
  • Demolitiondeb1 is right, but you have to also move the bed underneath the sim to somewhere else on the lot. go back into live mode and make your sim go somewhere else or do something else. now they wont be stuck anymore. just move the bed back
  • @ThitPoulsen - This thread is from 2011. Are you certain that is a TS3 solution? Usually we find that MoveObjectsOn tricks make things like this worse rather than better. I would have to vote for a MasterController Reset of the bed and the sim, or maybe the entire lot, if that is a viable option. ;)
