Sims 3 Debug Items Unhidden

I used debug items all the time in Sims 4. How does Sims 3 debug compare?

I don't know if we have collections in Sims 4, but I see this wiki that says we can put debug items in collections in Sims 3.
https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Buydebug
And I see this mod that is not a mod that puts collections of debug items in collections.
https://www.nexusmods.com/thesims3/mods/114?tab=articles
Should I try this?

I found this 12 year old video, but I'd love to hear some current conversation about what we can and cannot do with debug items in 2023.

  • @Katofhyrule12 , I noticed this thread a little late so hopefully you already solved this, but maybe the reason your Sim wasn't able to plant seeds in live mode was that it was an uncommon, rare or special seed, and your sim's gardening skill wasn't high enough? Or maybe the weather was too cold for gardening to work, if you played with Seasons on?
( I have no idea what could cause planting in buydebug not to work, though!)

Her gardening might not have been high enough. Seasons is on. I think it might have been late fall. I was having trouble fishing, so maybe planting was restricted too. Thanks for the ideas!
  • You're welcome! Just to add something in case you haven't come across the info yet: if you want your gardener to find rare and special seeds without cheating, there are some other ways besides just finding them lying around in the world:

    - go to the cemetery and explore the mausoleum. It's a rabbithole adventure which can sometimes give you a valuable gem or seed
    - dumpster diving can also give you a seed, among other things
    - in World Adventure worlds, there is sometimes a valuable seed in a treasure chest or an excavation site.

There are probably other ways that I can't think of now. And thinking about this makes me want to play a gardening Sim again!

    Thank you so much!!
  • If I remember correctly, in Sunset Valley, there are seeds that spawn in the grass outside of the cemetery.

    Thanks!

Is anyone familiar with what might be useful in debug for Lucky Palms?
