Hey guys! So, just a little backstory, I've played TS3 since it came out. I've downloaded CC many, many times and nothing has changed since the last time I downloaded skins or default eyes. My PC broke and I lost everything, I had to reinstall all of my games and I didn't have anything backed up outside my PC (which is really sad rip legacy) I have my mods folder, and all of my CC is working EXCEPT skins and default eyes. It doesn't matter if it's a default or non default skin, none show up. No intro is working so I know everything is installed correctly. I've tried remaking my old sims 3 folder and making a new one. I've cleared caches. I have no idea what the problem could be and it's really frustrating me. Any ideas are greatly appreciated, because I can't find anything on the subject but the same fixes I have already used!

Which skin and eyes are you trying to use? Does it come in a zip folder or rar file? If so, you will need to extract them before putting the package file in the Mods > Packages folder. Sorry, I have to point out the obvious just in case.

Where you have said that you tried taking everything else out of your Mods\Packages folder, did that really take the removed content out of your game or is all of the other stuff still there?

Reason for my question was that I was suspecting you might have a second unwanted game folder on your system someplace that the game was reading and therefore ignoring the one into which you were putting the skins. But if the other items' removals were honored and if the clean game folder was as well, then that can't be it.Afraid I'm stumped here. :/

Firewalls prevent and reroute data coming into and going out of your computer. As TS3 is not an online game, none of that should be relevant here except of course for the actual download of the content that you already have.If you want, you could take 3 screenshots, upload them to an image hosting service, and post the links here so we can see, in Detail View and showing complete paths, your TS3 game folder, your Mods folder, and your Mods\Packages folder just to see if anything is amiss with the structure. But from what you have described, all of that was set up correctly and already works with everything else.Sorry, but I really don't know what else to suggest.

I find that defaults & genetics can be finicky. Here is a couple of things I'd try ( & learnt):I occasionally find that rebel Sim that refuses to use my defaults (it is usually a townie). Sometimes I find going into CAS changing the Sim in someway helps to get the defaults working. This is assuming that see a change in CAS. Trying putting them into the overrides folder. The overrrides folder is favoured over the mods/package folder & clear your cache especially world cache & simCompositorCache.Have you tried just loading the game with the default skin? Then if that works trying it with just the eyes.Also if you have merged your content together, maybe you should re-download everything in that file from scratch and re-merge. I had problems with getting a taxi default changed from one to another. I had to re-download everything in that file to swap to the one that I wanted. To this day I don't know what the problem was because both files looked identical but the new file finally changed the default.I've discovered through testing out a lot of different genetics that this game can hold onto these things in its memory, even after deleting all I've mentioned. I was recently debating about changing skins & downloaded a few. I found that a skin that I tried, kept showing up on the first time I tried changing things in CAS. I didn't like it but my game seemed to.Just try playing, sometimes these things take a while to kick in.

Okay update seconds after my last one;) DEFAULT SKIN IS SUDDENLY WORKING. No idea why or how, eyes still aren't. But I'm going to restart my game and see if there's any difference. Hopefully @SunsetSimsPrime is correct and the game just sorts itself out as I play

Hope that's it then. Don't want to jinx anything, but it's a well-known fact that complaining about something on an Internet message board causes the problem to resolve itself around 28% of the time (with a pretty wide margin of error). Just took a bit longer to happen in this case. :p

I know this is an old post..but I don't know if anyonene could help me I play TS4 and use default eyes cc but when I download several only some will show in game and the others will not work? does anyone have an issue or is it just my game...?

This is an old forum and it was for TS3 but I will tell you my fix. I had changed from WinRAR to 7Zip and I wasn’t unzipping the files. Because some download as package files and don’t need unzipped, most of my cc was showing up. That’s why I was so confused. Hope this is your issue, as it is a very easy fix.

its not showing as a zip file when I download them? I play on a Mac

TS4 is different from TS3 in many regards, and I can see that you have already posted on the TS4 section of the forum. But how can there be more than one default set of eyes? In TS3, there can only be one default of anything (skins, etc.), the rest have to be the non-default versions if they are available.
