- thank you that kinda helped a little but what im looking for is how to do the split level stairs next to the wall.
- LadyGray0114 years agoSeasoned AceIn order to do one right up against the wall you will need to build a half level. Build your walls, then in the cheat box type: constrainFloorElevation false
Then put a square of foundation beside the wall. It will pop the wall down to half size, then you can drag the level terrain tool across the whole thing. Then you build another level on top. The stairs will go to the first level you created, then you can turn and go up to the second. To place doors and windows though you will have to delete the section of wall where you want to place it, and put in a new regular sized wall. This creates slanted walls on either side of the doors and windows though. If you are set on the first set of stairs being half height, it's better to have it away from the wall.
If you want to do a regular floor, then a half floor- build two levels. Then a little distance away from the house build a two story square room. Then put the foundation beside that. Then drag the leveling tool from the second story across the top of the house.
If you want to do this to make another half floor up on additional floors, then just build your house and the little tower room to the right height. Then use stairs right next to the wall to knock it down. Going down into the ground 3 sets will knock you down a half wall size, and for each floor up you'd have to repeat this to knock it down to a half wall.
When you are done type: constrainFloorElevation true
I hope this made sense. :) - I am actually working on a tutorial for this to post on our magazine site as a request. If you still need it, I can give you the link when I'm done or post it as a story on here.

I am actually working on a tutorial for this to post on our magazine site as a request. If you still need it, I can give you the link when I'm done or post it as a story on here.- Okay, cheats needed:
ConstrainFloorElevation False
PlaceFriezes On
Build the room, but not the roof or second level flooring yet.
Place foundation on top of foundation or wall to get the split where you want it. make sure it is a 1x3, 2x 3 or larger foundation. Now put in those stairs, if it balks use move objects on as well to make them get where you want them.
Now go around and level the terrain where needed to get things back in order.
Finally ConstrainFloorElevation False to lock it all in and, Place Friezes off just so you can put a foundation on the ground again if needed.
For really odd levels, different than half wall height you have to raise or lower nearby terrain, place foundations or walls and level the work area to it.
You can do near spiral that way but, that's advanced CFE work and, we do have spiral stairs now :) - thanks Dark
i will give this a go, its for an english 1950s house im building
