Looking for friends
hello everyone! I'm writing this hoping to find people who still plays ts3! i play The Sims since I was a kid and most of the time it was ts3 but I've never had any friends on my profile, so I decided to check on here if anyone is interested in becoming friends in the game :) thank youuu283Views1like17CommentsNeed Some Honest Feedback...
Hello Everyone, Well, just recently I began to reinstall the Sims 3 after having been playing around with the Sims 4 for the past 5 or so years. But with the recent problems with that game, I decided to dust off my Sims 3 and got it all set up to play on my PC. Now, the question is... I love a lot of the content that is in the Sims 3 Store. Back in the day of the Sims 3 era, I was so eternally grateful to the short ad clips we could opt to watch to help us accumulate store points to purchase items/sets/Compilations... so I easily became a Sims 3 store junkie buying up a ton of their content over time. Coming back to it after all these years, I see there are still some sets I would just love to have but are not yet completed in my purchasing. I would love to buy them now... but... is it "safe" to do so? The game is nearly 17 years old now. With a questionable future of EA and the game being so old, I would be heartbroken to invest in more content only to learn EA might put the ax to this game. I know this is always a risk with any game... but to buy stuff so late into this stage of the game's history... is it safe to purchase more... or will I be basically throwing my money away on something that may soon come to a close?84Views0likes2CommentsHouseboat can sail normally in Sunset Valley but cannot dock / return to port
Hi everyone, I’m experiencing a strange houseboat docking issue in Sunset Valley and I’ve exhausted nearly all troubleshooting steps. When I choose “Dock to Port” or “Return to Port,” the houseboat sails toward the dock normally, but once it reaches the edge of the blue gangway docking zone, it stops. The docking animation never completes, the hull ladder does not deploy, and my Sim starts doing the foot-stomping animation as if something is blocking the path. There is nothing visibly obstructing the port or shoreline. The boat consistently stops at the same edge of the blue docking zone every time. Ports place without issues. Houseboats place correctly. Sailing in open water works perfectly. The boat can leave shore without any problem. This appears to be specifically a docking interaction failure, not a general routing issue. I have tested extensively. I placed ports farther into deep ocean. I tested completely straight docking approaches. I used smaller houseboats on 64x40 lots. I tested both EA premade houseboats and downloaded houseboats. I built ports in multiple locations near Old Pier Beach and Recurve Strand. I confirmed I did not use moveobjects when placing gangways. I tested multiple port widths. I even teleported the boat directly next to the port for testing. The result is always identical. The boat stops at the blue docking zone and will not complete docking. To narrow this down further, I tested the exact same setup in Sunlit Tides. The water there is actually shallower than Sunset Valley, yet docking works perfectly in Sunlit Tides. However, I created a brand new Sunset Valley save and docking still fails in exactly the same way. To completely rule out mods, I renamed my entire “The Sims 3” folder so the game generated a completely fresh user folder with no mods. I started a brand new Sunset Valley save and tested docking again. The issue still occurs exactly the same way. So this does not appear to be water depth, port placement, boat size, shoreline clearance, or mod related. Docking works in Sunlit Tides but fails in Sunset Valley, even in brand new saves with no mods installed. Has anyone encountered world-specific docking behavior like this before?81Views0likes2CommentsThat 90's thread
Hey everyone. 😊 Since this year marks my 40th birthday ( 🤯 ) I've been feeling rather nostalgic...missing my younger days in what I would call the greatest decade ever: the 1990's. 💙💚💛 Some of the best years of my life were in the 90's (apart from meeting the love of my life in 2006) and I wanna keep some of the best of the 1990's (as well as early 2000's - I'll allow it 👍🏻) alive in our Sims 3 games. So that's why I've created this thread. A place where we can share any kind of cc out there that screams 1990's (early 2000's)! 😁 Now some of you might be thinking, "Emorrill, there's already 1990's styles in the Sims 3." True... But NOT ENOUGH! 😜 I know there's plenty of y'all on here that share my love of the 90's, so if you have or happen upon any kind of cc out there that's 1990's (early 2000's) related - hairstyles, clothing, furniture, make-up styles (outlined lips anyone? 😛) - please share it on here. And bookmark this thread! Cause I wanna feel more nostalgia and have a 90's cc collection! ⭐ *I only ask a couple of things when sharing: Please provide a photo of the cc that you found as well as a working download link for it. (It's no fun if we can't download it... 😥) I certainly welcome anyone who can provide links to cc found online that is no longer available on the internets anymore, 💗👏🏻 but the pictures are still out there to taunt us. 😐 #annoying! ^That's still a pound sign to me, btw. 😂^ **Please remember: While some of the cc I share on here has been play-tested in my game, others have not. As is the case with all cc, you download at your own risk. Always back up your current cc, and save folders, before adding in any new cc just in case. 👍🏻 Anyway! 🎵 Let's get ready to rumble! 🎵 Now y'all, my memory ain't what it used to be so there's only so many styles from the 90's that I actually remember. 😵 Let me start the cc sharing off with this one: "The Rachel Cut" Hairstyle from the hit TV show F*R*I*E*N*D*S. 😊 Y'all remember the beautiful Jennifer Aniston sporting the iconic hairstyle, right? Over the years I've found a couple of cc hairstyles that resemble it quite nicely (and now they are lost to the internet), but I think this is the best one still available so far that I've found. And it was created by none other than the incredible Peggy! This hairstyle is available for download in this MEGA collection of PeggyZone hairs: https://mega.nz/folder/0QsmVTIY#rfaSJG-WVIZIDPUMD10R8w/folder/ZN9wUZ7I (You'll have to copy and paste this link into a new tab due to the forum dubbing it an "invalid HTML" 🙄 That drives me nuts!) Here's how it looks in game to those who are curious. 😉 If any of y'all have another (or better) version of The Rachel Cut, please feel free to share. 😊👍🏻 There's some other late 90's hairstyle gems in that MEGA folder like this one: (Which apparently Jennifer Aniston also sported. 👍🏻 I just remember many girls in my high school doing their hair like this. 😊) Edit to add: When testing ^this hair^ in my game it was not showing up in CAS. 🙁 So I found a nice retexture of it which I hope works. 👍🏻 Here's the link: https://anubis360.blogspot.com/2011/12/peggy-hair-826-fixed-and-pookletd-for.html Here's how the retextured hair by anubis looks like in my game, with color variations. ⭐ Anyhoo! Now share all the 90's cc you can find with me (us) y'all! 😁 Let's have a bunch of fun reminiscing with this thread. 🥰 Thanks y'all! ~~~Please remember that I edit posts often to add more cc items I find that fit the theme of that particular post. So don't forget to refer back to the older posts to see what's new and decide if you want more! 😁👍🏻~~~ *FORUM TIP*: Click on the "Oldest" tab below to see all the posts in their proper order if you are not a regular follower.1.9KViews8likes88CommentsApple Bobbing Tank - Fix for Children
Hello, when playing The Sims 3, you might have experienced this problem as well: In specific instances, children cannot use the Apple Bobbing Tank. I had this problem as well and found this thread: Children Can't Bob For Apples | EA Forums - 904684 With the help of that thread, I came to the solution why it happens: It has to do with the fact that the Apple Bobbing Tank blocks off too much walkable space (at least when placed diagonally). When reducing this value (the so-called footprint areas) then children can use Apple Bobbing Tanks, no matter in which angle they are placed. Everybody can do that, but it does involve several steps (cloning the object, then finding the necessary values and setting them to appropriate numbers). So I uploaded the resource containing the correct values on ModTheSims. It can be downloaded from here: https://modthesims.info/d/694012/apple-bobbing-tank-fix-for-children.html Just download the file and put it into your mods folder like every other mod. If the Apple Bobbing Tank was placed beforehand, then you need to reset its values before it works. For that, go into buy mode, pick up the Apple Bobbing Tank, and either place it back down or press Escape. You only have to do this once per object. If you start a new game/neighbourhood, then already placed Apple Bobbing Tanks will still have the original value, so you need to do the abovementioned steps as well, but again, only once. If you should still have trouble, or if you want to know the details of how to create that fix yourself, feel free to comment here or on ModTheSims.35Views0likes0CommentsSims decide to not route as they have
Ok so this is the story. You are play-testing or just playing and all of sudden your sim decides they can't use the fridge or stove or whatever they have been using without problem for the entire time. All of sudden, " Oh no! I can't open the fridge that is completely unobstructed??!!" Anyone else have this problem? 🤬 Usually I just buy new one and they seem fine again but that is not working this time.Solved161Views0likes6Commentsmystery house
Hi all ... it's my first time posting here, and I'm wondering whether any Simmers out there can help me find a CC house. I downloaded it a couple of years ago; then my computer crashed, and I lost a lot of stuff. I had placed the house on a lot in one of my save games, so I just saved that lot to my new memory bin when I got a new computer and reinstalled everything. I wanted to find the original house because I had placed my download on a larger lot than the house was built on. So I recently began looking for it online--but I've had no luck whatsoever. I have a feeling the original builder removed it from whatever site they posted it to, which is a shame because it's a lovely split-level house that must have taken a ton of work and care to build. Here's a photo of it as installed in another save game (the original was on a 40x40 lot): Does anyone else have, or recognize, this house? Maybe someone even knows who the builder was...? If anyone can help me find this house again, I would be so appreciative. Thanks in advance!214Views0likes5Comments
