Spooky Town 2020

One of my favorite worlds is Spooky Town. It is an amazing world that showcases a lot of talent and creativity. I love that so many people came together to create a world.

For me, the routing issues made it a fun world to visit but not to play. I don't play with all the expansions so quite a bit of content would be missing when I loaded the game. The police department would be missing and other basic buildings.

The Vamped up version is amazing. At last, the routing issues are fixed. I really like that it is still Spooky but the town is vibrant and light. Also great to have a world that is populated.

I have been playing with CAW to break "improve" the world. What would be some of your suggested fixes or changes to Spooky Town Vamped Up. Being quarantined seems like a good time to start work on "Spooky Town 2020".

Here is the start of my list:
Street/World Routing
Routing inside of Buildings (sims not being able to get to rooms or work)
Late Night Lots
Fewer Parking Spaces
Replace/Remove lots with standard size lots
More lot size variations available
Add Beautiful Vista on appropriate lots
Add/Fix houseboats
No CC on Population

As for building the town, I'm avoiding putting community rabbit hole buildings in basements. I haven't started using Jinx doors/rugs but think that might be preferable. Not everyone has the same store worlds and playing 'how to fit the shell in this space" isn't all that enjoyable.

I'm keeping downtown buildings to a maximum of three stories.

What would be on your list of things to improve upon?
  • After much fussing, I got the street routing worked out. I haven't had any routing issues or Nraas error messages... YAY!!!

I haven't run it with Story Progression which will be my next task. It has been fun to try new things. I rebuilt the Bowling Alley from the university so that it fits on a smaller lot. Figuring out how to build the half-wall that is used on a lot of the standard EA buildings was a challenge. Here is my recreation, needs a few touch-ups before I will upload to exchange. I'm also working on apartment buildings just so all the npc sims have a place to live.

One of the big questions is how many lots should the world have? And what expansions should it support? The only expansion I don't have right now is "Pets".
