- @plushtrap_107 - Steam will not sell you the expansion packs if you do not own the Steam base game (again, it doesn't need to be installed, just purchased). The purchases are all tied to your Steam account. It can still be a really good deal even if the extra base game purchased is not needed, I mean at sale prices we're talking about an extra $5 or whatever here in order to be allowed to buy the EPs at $5 each and you still get the 1,000 store points for the otherwise unnecessary base game purchase (and WA if you want/need that).
On an all disc install on 1.67, there is no path to using Origin codes from any source unless one "updates" to 1.69. So the only ways to make that work would be the same two methods above, except one would have to accept Patch 1.69 to use the Steam provided Origin codes on Origin. "MidnightAura;c-16322593" wrote:
I feel you, that's my annoyance with the launcher. I'm getting annoyed by it randomly removing packs at will.
Very tempted to switch to steam although I'm not sure I would handle not having all my content off the bat. My base game is pre 2012 and I have all the discs but I'm scared of messing up the process along the way!
I can understand the "if it's not totally broke, don't fix it" mindset. I can't say the switchover process itself is entirely pleasant or something I would want to do multiple times, and of course any such procedure can be prone to something unexpected happening along the way. :)
And I did neglect to mention that when switching over to all Steam, this doesn't apply to the Origin codes method, one has to re-download and re-install all TS3 Store content. The prior downloads, even backup up copies, won't work on the Steam version of the game because they would have been associated with the "wrong" user. Other forms of added content (CC, mods, custom worlds) are fine.- @igazor you get some cool western theme clothing and a few obects, as well as an awesome outhouse with the movie pack. I vote yes for it. :) I had to repurchase it for my disk only games and felt it was worth it and it was a bit more than what steam is selling it for.
- @igazor, OK thanks, I've got it now :) It does seem to be a very good deal (I wish Origin would do some deals that cheap, lol). I'll tell my friend about it; see what they think!

I have a little bit of store content. All the worlds. No idea how I would transfer them over. But seriously considering moving. Need to research how to uninstall the game including cleaning the registry to see if I can do it without breaking anything! "MidnightAura;c-16322701" wrote:

After securing my TS3 user game folder from Documents, I uninstalled from Origin (I think) and then from the Windows Control Panel (Programs and Features, the name varies by version of Windows) if anything was leftover. Then I used the free version of Piriform's CCleaner to clean the registry. That part was pretty painless (for me).

Hi there, I'm new to sims and TS3...
No one is going to believe that, igazor!
Okay, right. Let me start again. I'm already fully vested in the Steam version of everything so the entire on sale page is greyed out for me except for one item. I never did pick up the Movie Stuff SP. Do I want it? Even after all this time, I'm having difficulty convincing myself that I need it though at $4.99 (USD), or on the Bundle I'm being offered for $3.99, it's pretty difficult to keep ignoring.
Yes its worth it, especially if you're into costumes like I am. There's a lot of good stuff in it.
I have all the packs except Diesel stuff, and I can't convince myself to get that one, so I know what you are going thru. "igazor;c-16322406" wrote:

The all-in-one outhouse is nice. I've used it on plenty of community lots to provide bathroom facilities. It looks right at home outdoors. The other items are a bit extreme for my taste unless I have an Insane sim in the household. For those I'll usually dress them in many of the different costumes which come with Movie Stuff - just as a warning to others.- MidnightAura868 years agoSeasoned AceMovie stuff I like, I actually use a surprising amount of Diesel stuff so I wouldn't be without that one either. I think the clothes are nice
