Stylist career

I have a few questions about the stylist career:

1. Why do clients always hate what you’ve changed? For example I had a client that requested a new everyday, formal and swimwear outfits. I cleaned them up and gave them the requested three outfit changes, they always hate it and I never get paid.

2. Why is it that once exiting the CAS/makeover room the client now has a completely different look/hairstyle and outfit to what I gave them?

3. How are you able to progress further in the career path when your work is always “bad”? I understand that the sim must level up their creativity but will the progress come with time? I can’t seem to fill up the green bar on the career tab.

  • @KalumWhyte  The Stylist career is a bit finicky, but two details can help.  One is that sometimes when you choose an article of clothing, the sim will react positively.  You'd recognize it when you saw it, and that means keep that item (or find another one they like equally well).  And occasionally you can pick the same item twice and get different reactions; not sure why, but pay attention to the details.

The other thing that helps is to build the portfolio, which of course you can only do with existing successes, but it'll help as time goes on.

Using the sketchboard gives your sim experience in the career too, so you can skip some lower levels and get more interesting assignments if that's a problem right now.
