I have been really itching to start this challenge over, sadly I haven't had the time. Now I'm unsure if I want to because of the new rules. I for one am not a fan of majority. I don't mind the money cut nor the 1-3 lot per gen rule. The requirements on the other hand I do not like. I feel like I need to print off the instructions in order to play. I also don't have Uni so several things I can't do. I have into the future but if I follow the rules I can't use any of it. Also just because my heir dies doesn't mean he didn't teach the next gen how to use it. Figuring out how to use and activate it I understand needing that education operating it not so much. Also I love having a starter witch I have had one both times I've started and now I can't. This may seem like a rant (and it might be a little I've had a rough day) but you did ask for feed back so here it is. It could be the fact that I don't like change that I automatically don't like them *shrugs* Also, we can't have ANY unoccupied lots in our world? We can't move our family unless we leave someone behind? Nor can we now travel? If we do the sim we use is ineligible to be our heir? I've read the rules about 3 times now and while I see somethings working and making the game challenging yet still enjoyable some like I said make me not want to play by these rules and revert to the older 5-10 rules.
First and foremost let me say it is good to see that you have come back. And thank you for voicing your opinion.
Im going to try to explain the said rules that you have a issue with so first you can better understand where i am coming from with this changes.
The rules was written out to get further depth to the challenge itself. Yes the rules are lengthy. I just tried to cover everything that i had been asked about when it came to the challenge. With that said rules can be changed to fit the need of the challenge. As long as it doesn't brake the challenge itself.
If you dont have a Expansion to the game that the rule make way for. Please substitute it out for something that makes sense. Once again i say the rules are meant to be bent.
As far as your starter family being human. That rule was set to help out the legacy writers. It helps as a starting point for things to come in there stories. If you dont like it dont use it.
The whole unoccupied lots thing is more of a game ending strategy or a way to "win" the challenge.
Not being able to move the family. The rule is because i felt that people were having muti children families and just kicking out those non heirs. So i figured that since the non heirs dont get the money they can atleast have a dwelling to live in. So that once someone that is a heir come to the point of needing to max out architectural skills they have places to work on.
The travel thing was and is alittle out there im going to get rid of that rule all together.
If you dont want to go by the new rules...so be it...the change was not ment to alienate players....just to give depth to a generalized challenge.....just know that we love having you here and your a valued asset to this community.
