Updating On My Progress:
This will have to come in written form for the next week or so. I don’t know how to upload photos (and quite often forget to take pictures of important events etc). My internet access is limited at the moment, so I can’t afford to play with it to find out how. (Too many hours spent watching other Simmer’s Youtube Challenges. My favorite posted by Sweetnightingale. I got the inspiration for the Tablet from her)
The Williams Family:
Founder 1 - Adam: *Black Hair, Green Eyes and an Olive Complexion
*Brave, Loves Outdoors, Athletic, Green Thumb, Angler
*LTW: Have the perfect garden
*Responsible for adding the “Trading Post” (Grocery/Diner Combo). I like this combo as it is reminiscent of the Old West Trading Posts where you could buy what you needed and sit down to a meal.
Founder 2 – Evie: *Blond Hair, Blue Eyes and a Peaches ‘n’ Cream Complexion
*Natural Cook, Handy, Neat, Nurturing, Artistic
*LTW: To become a Reissuance Sim
*Doesn’t like the thought of gravestones (or ghosts) on the family plot so she wants to add a graveyard
2nd Generation- Beth *Black Hair, Tawny Colour (or is it Hazel) eyes and an Olive Complexion
*Loves the Outdoors (Given), Genius (Chose)
Cabin: is perfect for a couple just starting out. It’s designed like a bed/sit, with one large room and an adjoining bathroom.
Furnishing:
Moving in
*Landscaping: A tree, couple of hydrangeas, a few rocks and a wheelbarrow full of flowers
*Outside: Chicken coop, bench, music rock and a couple of bike racks
*Security Systems (Not sure if Police/Fireman will turn up but at least Adam will know if there’s a burglar)
*Lighting: 4 Lodge lights and a cheap bedside lamp
*Kitchen/Dining: Basic counters, sink and table/chairs. I put in good quality stove and fridge plus the food processor (I get impatient when they use the cutting board)
*Bedroom: a good quality bed and fuzzy drawers dresser (university exp) which doubles as a bedside table
*Lounge: cheap two seater couch, bookcase and stereo
*Bathroom: cheap toilet sink and mirror. I put in the original bath/shower combo. I usually have this in the bathroom connecting to the nursery on the ground floor. (I love how the kids have “submarine adventures”. It’s also good for along soak after a stressful day)
*A few plants and accessories to pretty the place up.
After adding bedroom (to be Nursery later):
*Moved bedroom furniture
*Added Baby/Toddler equipment: Crib, change table, extra dresser/lamp, trash compacter/counter, potty chair, peg box and baby swing.
Added Extras
*Treadmill and Weights machine – to improve Adam’s Athletics skills so he is able to protect the family. And according to “Carl’s the Sims Site” athletics skills may also make gardening easier.
*Easel – to give Evie something fun to do which will also bring in some extra cash.
*Stroller – to take Beth for a walk to the beach for a family BBQ. Took all afternoon to get there which lead too
*”Buggy” (sloppy jalopy)- for taking toddler on outings every few days and the occasional date or family outing. Strictly pedal power otherwise.
*Playpen – I used to use this and the walker to help raise my toddlers because the parent was too busy. Now I want to use its “play with mirror” to start Beth off with her Charisma skill
*Bookcase – for the bedroom to put toddler and children’s books in.
*Full length wall mirror – I like to use this to change toddler’s appearance. I leave the hair colour the way it is and change the style.
I had trouble adding a basement for Adam’s Exercise Equipment (House had a foundation) so I put all the house furniture and items into family storage, saved a copy of the family and restarted the game. Then I re-started the game from the blank copy, built and bought the house and replaced the family. (This was before I remembered I could move the family and contents to the clipboard and bulldoze/rebuild the house  )
The tablet can also be used to read any non-skill books (except toddler’s books) your family owns. So I moved the toddler’s books that came with the bookcases from the lounge bookcase into the bedroom and placed that bookcase into storage. This left room for me to place the playpen.
THE FAMILY STORY
Before house drama
Adam and Evie spent the first few days building their skills and enjoying each other’s company. Adam wanted to improve his athletic ability and bought some exercise equipment. Evie needed something fun and relaxing to do after she started to upgrade the plumbing, so she purchased and easel and took up painting. After they spent a particularly amorous evening together, Evie found out she was pregnant. Adam was totally ecstatic and sent away for Nursery equipment and toys. They built on an extra room to become a combined nursery and bedroom.
Evie went into labour just as she was getting ready to cook dinner. Adam panicked for a little while, then after the contractions just kept on coming, wandered off to work on his Abs (nice going Adam). They had a beautiful little girl, and named her Beth (after Adam’s grandmother). Adam and Evie split their time between work, play and looking after Beth.
Beth grew into a toddler. Evie set her to playing with her toys and book while she worked. Adam and Evie shared the responsibility of teaching her to walk, talk and use the potty. One day Evie was thinking family outings at the beach sounded like fun, so she decided to buy a stroller. When it arrived she set off. It took several hours just to get there (not to mention getting back) This prompted her to buy a “Buggy”. Once Beth learned all she could from her toys and book, Evie bought a block table to keep her entertained. As summer started to draw to a close Adam decided to build a basement to house his exercise equipment (which was currently in the yard).
Adam’s Day
When Beth was just a baby Adam (who was usually the first up) would take her into the living area to tend to her needs and then put her in the baby swing. He would then continue on with his daily routine
In the morning he gets up has breakfast and uses the bathroom. After tending to the chickens and his garden, he heads of to the beach to fish. In the afternoons he comes home for something to eat then goes down to exercise before having a shower. In the early evenings he takes over looking after Beth so Evie can cook dinner then relax. Before going to bed, he gathers the eggs and feeds the chickens.
Evie’s Day
She spends her time between cooking, cleaning, fixing and updating the plumbing and looking after Beth. In the evenings when Adam takes over with Beth, she cooks dinner then spends a little time relaxing. She likes to paint, read books on her tablet, or play on her laptop.
Beth’s Day
When her parents weren’t teaching her how to walk, talk and go potty, Beth was learning new skills by herself using her painting book and peg box. When she had learned all she could, Beth spent more time playing with her IF doll and block table.
Lifetime Rewards
Adam was constantly getting overheated while fishing. And then he got the flu(And gave it to Evie of course!!) and with no medical help around they had to work through it. I decided to give them both Simmunity and immunity to cold and heat. At the time Evie had enough for all. Adam only had enough for Simmunity and one other. Being summer I chose immunity to heat. I am working on getting immunity to cold.
