I’ve started taking pictures of what my house and Sims look like so I can show you when I’ve learned how to upload them.
(I missed Beth’s toddler and child years and Adam and Evie as young adults)
After moving into new home:
Week1
Evie and Adam finished teaching Beth her life skills. Evie sent away for a playpen to add to her childcare equipment. Beth adored the mirror and loved playing peekaboo with it. Adam, with his gardening and fishing skills well in hand, decided to learn how to cook. (I forgot he needed it to earn Diner part of Grocery/Diner combo)
A burglar came calling in the early hours. Who would of thought, especially out in the middle of no-where. :!: Thank goodness Adam had the sense to put a security system in. And to top it off, a law officer showed up. Where on earth did he come from? The burglar fought off the cop and managed to get away. Beth slept through the whole thing. Once things settled down, Evie went back to bed. Adam stayed up and had a nice chat with the officer, then decided to get an early start on his chores.
Evie’s become quite the handywoman. She’s up-graded the trash compacter so it won’t break down and made the bathroom facilities and the kitchen sink self-cleaning (just need to fix those burst pipes and clogged toilets). Now she’s working on making the stove fireproof. (Don’t want Ada……ahem….any of the family to catch fire or burn down the house while trying to make dinner)
Evie applied on-line to have a cemetery built. After running through months of red tape (and dozens of emails) permission was granted. Our eccentric billionaire provided the money and they built the “Peaceful Haven”cemetery.
One day Evie walked into the bedroom and found Beth trying to climb out of her crib. She jokingly told the tot it was time that they got her a “big girl bed”. Adam overheard this. He became very tearful, realising that his baby girl was growing up and it wouldn’t be long before he had to send her off to boarding school.
Evie, having finished all available up-grades in the house, decided to concentrate on her painting. Adam being busy with other things, forgot to collect the eggs for a little while and was surprised with a brood of chicks. (After a day or so they flew the coop. I’m not sure how this works, as I’ve never really had the chance to fully explore this item)
Just as Beth grew into a beautiful little girl getting ready to head off on an exciting new adventure at Fort Starch Military school, Evie discovered she was pregnant with her second child.
Beth’s little brother Charlie, arrived the day before she left for school. Evie was in labour and the family panicked. Charlie took his time in greeting the world, so Adam went back to his brunch and Beth put on her tab cast and returned to playing with her blocks

Side note:
Evie reached her LTW of becoming a Renaissance Sim. It took her 2 sim weeks{I included the week before I had to start again} Listening to tab casts while completing physical tasks sped up the process of reaching level 10 in Logic, Cooking, and Handiness. It won’t be long before she maxes out painting as well. I’ve given her the Extra Creativity Lifetime Reward to increase the value of her paintings
I’ve given Beth the LTW of becoming a Renaissance Sim. (I love how LTW sometimes pop up with kids) She needs to master five skills to get the civics building
Because Evie had a good pregnancy, Charlie was given the Virtuoso trait; I chose the Genius trait for him. I’ve a feeling he will take after both his parents.

Week 2
Adam is progressing fairly well with his life time wish. He uses fertilizer to improve the quality of his plants, replacing them by planting better quality fruits and vegetables. With over a dozen plants in his garden, Adam decided to install a reticulation and compost system to help him make more efficient use of his time while gardening.
Evie decided to up-grade her laptop to make it unbreakable. Adam liked the idea and asked her to up-grade his as well.
After careful thought and discussion, Adam and Evie decided that their children and those that came in the future should have some play equipment that is just for fun and had nothing to do with building their skills. They invested in a cubbyhouse and swing set.
Evie aged up into an adult. She hadn’t been able to leave home since Charlie was born, and was going a little “Stir Crazy”. Adam offered to babysit while she took a moonlight swim at the beach.
Charlie grew into a toddler. Adam and Evie split the task of teaching him basic life skills. Evie became so proficient at repairing busted plumbing, that once it was fixed, it never broke again. Adam discovered some rare seeds at the cemetery while checking out its pond as a potential fishing spot. He used his new gardening equipment to find out what they were. (Carrots, Wonderpetal, bumbleaf and camomile – when I tried to plant the camomile, the game glitched and it disappeared. )
Adam aged up. When Evie asked what he wanted for his birthday, he said he wanted to spend some quality time with his son. He’d been very busy of late and couldn’t spend as much time with him as he would have liked. Evie took the opportunity to take the afternoon off and relax at the beach.
Since their family had grown, their cosy cottage had become a little too cosy. The Williams’ decided it was time for another extension. They added a room to the back of the house to become the new nursery/bedroom combo and moved the kitchen/dining furniture and appliances out of the living area and into the old bedroom. To give everyone some privacy they put a dividing wall in the large bathroom, creating a an additional and separate toilet off the living area. (I like to do this with all of my homes. It’s helpful for the morning rush getting ready for work or school and also gives visitors access to a toilet without having to traipse through the bedrooms.) Adam extended the fence around his garden to include the chicken coop and added an entrance off the kitchen. (I put up the fence because a deer ate one of my plants. Another tried to get at them but had no luck)
With extra space left by the “Kitchen/Dining room” they could take the bookcase, playpen, baby swing and block table out of storage. They bought a xylophone , hopscotch square and toy oven to complete their toddler/child skill building set and added a chess table and chairs for the whole family.
With the new expansion, Evie has more plumbing to up-grade. Which gives her something else to spend her time on besides painting, when Charlie is doing his own thing.
Charlie played with the xylophone and peg box, in between his life lessons from Adam and Evie. Both his parents boarded at the “School of Peace and Love” where they met and fell in love. After discussing it, they decided that this would be the best place for him to attend school.
Adam had no luck taming the local stray dogs, so decided to adopt one. He sent away for pet care equipment, and then waited for the right one to become available.
Beth aged up into a teen. Rather than put her and themselves through the drama of coming home and leaving again, Adam and Evie decided to let her stay at boarding school. She has done very well and gained the Homework skill.
Adam finally maxed out his cooking skill, the second requirement to gain access to the Grocery Store/Diner. He had already maxed out his gardening and fishing skills (and is also close to reaching level 10 in Athletics and Logic). He applied for and received permission to build. He named it “Mama Jo’s Corner Store and Café” after his favourite grandmother who passed away just before he entered this study. He sent out a request over the internet for another Volunteer family to join the study and help run the place. Ms Martingale, and her teenage son where the perfect applicants. She was just coming out of a messy divorce and needed a fresh start. Her son could also work in a part-time capacity. (and he’s a possible mate for Beth)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Side Note:
Charlie has his father’s black hair and olive complexion and his mother’s blue eyes. He also has his mother’s artistic temperament (I’ll teach him the guitar, for fun - and wooing the girls! ) and his father’s love of the outdoors and gardening (I want him to earn a small park, which I will make into a flower garden with a wedding arch and reception area.)
I have no idea what to do with Wonderpetal, bumbleaf and camomile. Or the other herbs and bean plants :?: (I’m always getting them after completing the first level of gardening skill. I delete them.) Could someone please tell me what on earth I’m supposed to do with these things? :?
I’m doing pretty well financially so far. I had a little over $130,000 after buying the home lot and cemetery. After the extensions and buying extra items I had a little over $150,000. Then I bought the Grocery Store/Diner worth $40,000. My Account held a little over $110,000 at the beginning of week 3.
My founders have just reached adulthood. Evie has been selling most of her paintings, (keeping a few favourites to decorate their walls) and Adam his extra fish, produce and eggs (as well as finding and selling the occasional exotic egg worth $1,500). Their incomes, plus the profits from the cemetery and grocery store/diner will have built a nice little nest egg by the time Beth is ready to take over the reins.
