kloving1970 thanks. I looked at the other method as a few others suggested but couldn't wrap my head around it. Here's my attempt at this method.

Wow it worked.
This is the first expansion of my house after restarted the game so I could add a basement for Adams Exercise Equipment, you can see the staircase on the right. In the original house the front was an all purpose room with an adjoining bathroom. It was a different shape and on a foundation that made it difficult to put the stairs in.

This is the second expansion. I added another room at the back and turned it into a combination bedroom/nursery. The old bedroom was extended a little and turned into a kitchen. (There will be a spiral staircase leading to the 2nd floor where the table is now at a later date) I split the bathroom in two, making a separate toilet. Now there is extra room in the living area for all of the families skill building equipment. (and the pet stuff ready for when Adam finally gets the dog he longs for!!)

This is Adam and Evie's second child Charlie. It seems as if he will be taking after his father in looks. (except for having his mother's eye colour.

I haven't got a picture of Beth (their oldest and Heir). She's away at boarding school at the moment. She was sent away as a child and stayed away. All babies and children seem to have similar looks in the game until the reach their teenage years anyway. Judging buy her thumbnail picture she takes after her father in looks as well except for her eyes, which are a tawny (or is it hazel) colour.

(scratches head) now I just have to figure out how to tell my story with pictures. I'm more of a words girl myself. :idea: maybe a mixture of both, a little heavier of the words. :D
