@ Abstract Silver - my game tends to corrupt after 4ish generations also.
I just move them to a new town and start again with whatever generation...seems to work. This time I saved all the families to the bin and moved them with my sims. I lost their family ties but I can still see them grow up. I also replace the lots I lost before the move and allow them to be bought by my current generation.
It was the only way I could play thru this challenge.
