Hello Everyone,
First I want to say thank you to everyone that has taken the time to read this. For some of you it has been a while since we have last spoken but please know that I have been watching in the background on how thing have been progressing. For the others that I do speak to regularly I say thank you for your help and guidance with the projects that either you or I have been working on. Im still working on a Sims Player base Social Network which should be up and running before the release of The Sims 4. We will be porting this challenge over for the Sims 4.So with out further ado I will get to the point.
For years I have been apart of this community I have watch it grow from it infancy and have been very proud to be apart of it. Doing what I felt was my share to help nurture a hobby that I loved.
When Maxis released the statement that they was releasing The Sims 4, I like everyone in this growing community was very excited. I couldn’t wait to see what new playground awaited us. I watched as I always do the community go into a uproar about the possibilities that was yet to come. As the time went by and they started to release more and more information about it I couldn’t help but be saddened at the ploy that was being used. As I found myself growing angry at the fact that they once again deployed the smoke and mirror tactic on us (their faithful fans) once again. I spoke out about it only to get verbally beat up cause my views didn’t fall in line with the many fan (KIDS) out there.
It came to a point where I was so angry at the community all together. I being a little older in age then many of the trollers had to take into account that many of the people who had an opinion was to young to have even played The Sims or The Sims Online. Let alone understand why I was angry in the first place. Being a longtime supporter of the franchise is a understatement. I was one of the first people on the line in front of Babbage to get a copy of this game. I spent my hard earned money on every game they released for the franchise to the total of 69. From core games, stuff packs, expansions or consoles. To put that into perspective we will say I spent 45 per purchase that is over $3000. So when I hear of the glorified demo that they are going to be on sale for $60 I was ******.
I figured that it was another thing that the community would have to build cause they was to lazy to work for the money they was asking us for. We the creator would have to sit in front of our PCs for hours having to fix all the issues that come with a new base game. Then sit back and wait to have to pay them for stuff that was either created by players already (Stuff Packs) or should have come with the base game to start with in the first place(expansions that we already paid for 3 times already). When it comes to Maxis we never get the game we are promised, we get the promises and something that will have to be fixed when they have the time cause they are already working on how to get the next $60 out of our pockets. You think im being too hard on them remember Spore and Simcity need I point out more cause there is a list.
I said all of that to say this…Remember you as the costumer have the right to get the product that you was promised when you pay for it. The reason we keep getting the glorified demos instead of the games promised to us is because we just throw our wallets at them and not holding them accountable. Point and case SIMCITY.
