(she could not get married at home and move out with her partner because my home was already full and the other children not old enough to move out just yet.) her partner moved in with a little money and 3 uni degrees! one is in business and i now wonder if i can use this partner (who became part of the bloodline by marriage) to unlock the day spa. Or if only direct descendants of the original couple can unlock buildings. Any thoughts?

Some who have decided to bend the rules to allow siblings and siblings' spouses to unlock things due to the fact their computer can't take the demand of as many generations as this challenge calls for. It is completely up to you on if you wish to follow this rule to a t or if you want to bend it
Ah thank you Majestyk, that makes total sense. I somehow missed this! I am sure that in some of the stories people did not follow that rule because they unlocked quite a lot of buildings before even the third generation. I have already broken that rule but I do quite like it and will start using it from now on. The game becomes a bit annoying anyway if you try to unlock something with every sim! My founding parents had 7 children. Trying to find a partner for everyone and having them unlock buildings is really getting in the way of enjoying the game lol. I will keep the few buildings that I gained by siblings and will from now on play by that rule. My only worry is that if I play it that way, the game will take a long time. And there is a chance I may loose interest in finishing the challenge. I might make an exception for sims that I decide to keep as part of my household, i.e. siblings that won't move out but stay with my heir and their spouse.
Cheers again!
