@kloving thank you for that tipp about the empty worlds! i will try that next time. for the time being i do not want to give up my current game (as i found an old backup of my sims folder that was not corrupted). though maybe i should consider saving every household to the bin and then moving everything into the new downloaded world? will consider that.
