Im finding it abit impossible to build a house with just $1,300.. I have made a 3x4 house..which only leaves me with $10.
which isnt even enough to buy a bin.. never mind the bed and toilet and kitchen.. not that i would be able to fit them in :S
Is anyone else having this problem or am i doing something wrong?
edit:for spelling mistake
I ended up not even building a house, my sim is roughing it in the middle of her lot, with just a bed, a sink, a fridge, a shower and a single wall with a toilet, and it took a lil while to get all that.. BUT I found a way to get her to get bathed and have a good time with out spending any money. She goes to the gym to work out and shower, and she spends her free time at the library. Also once she had enough life aspiration points I bought Dinner discount so she can go eat in town for free. I think it's hilarious to see her roughing it on that huge lot next to those big houses I have taken several pictures. Oh the funniest is when she eats at "home" has a bowl of cereal and sits on the toilet to eat.
My guy is starting to turn the corner but it was pretty tough in the beginning. His first 2 days he slept (inapropriately) at houses he visited because I wanted to see if he could live only with a lot. He ate food he found at the science lab (and planted what he didn't need to eat) and used the facilities at the gym for bladder and hygiene. After 2 days of this I decided he at least needed a bed so I bought him one and he slept for the next 5 nights next to the garden. Probably one of my better strategic moves was not to pursue a full career. A part-time job requires no skills to advance so for the first week he concentrated on fishing and gardening. I didn't want him to waste precious time learning skills that may not bring in as much money and all of the other nonsense needed to advance a career. Thanks to this he is already a level 7 gardener and fisherman and he can really start bringing in the money.
He now lives in a shack that has a bed, a lamp, a toilet, and a shower and it finally has a floor and some wall coverings. So he is living large. He mostly eats what he can grow and occasionally he goes to a cheap restaurant.
Thanks to the job, gardening money, and fishing money he now has 3500 in his account. I have stopped now so I can strategize about how to use this money. I can't decide if I want him to bachelor it a little while longer and try to make enough to invest or if it is time to expand the house a little and find a mate.
