i had that happen with my founder sim. i didnt have a complete room yet so everything was on the lawn with 2 wall length wall for toilet and sink. the burglar sneak onto the lot while my sim was sleeping, looked around and shook his head and left without taking anything. i think the burglar will only steal cars and possibly lawn decorations outside the house, only steals other things when they are inside a fully enclosed house.
Hrm, no, I've had a burglar sneak in and steal my *sink* of all things when I still just had a few things like a bed, and a wall with a sink, toilet, and shower.
Maybe they have to be in a room or up against a wall or something? I don't know how it works, but I actually had a computer on the lot (my founder is an aspiring professoinal author), so you'd think he'd take that. Rather than, y'know, the sink.
