I am not sure. My third generation is ready to start trolling for a mate but this has gotten too easy too fast. The problem with easy is that it tends to get boring. I have over 20 money trees planted and I can now pull in over 20k every couple of days. All I would have to do is steer clear of career based LTWs and just make sure there is a level 7 gardener and an artist in every other generation.
I wouldn't be surprised if my second generation patriarch who has managed to climb the medical career track is worth over a million simoleans before the grim reaper pays hims a visit. He is already worth over 400k and has a full 9 days before he turns into an elder.
The only thing really challenging is the constant assignment of horrible traits but even that can't derail this avalanche of money.
Maybe something interesting will happen soon. It was so much fun when there was no house.
If its too easy, and you want interesting stuff to happen, let the money trees die and don't raise constant gardeners. Or start a fire.. can you burn down your entire house? Make that something interesting happen! :P
But that would be contrary to the challenge. I get points for the amount of money they accumulate so it is in my best interest to keep things going well. Unfortunately my strategy is too good and now I have to put up with 10 generations of the same old thing. On the weekend children learn fishing and teenagers learn gardening. I have to get to level 5 on fishing to use live bait to catch death fish and I need a level 7 gardener to tend the money trees. Beyond that they can get jobs and learn other skills as adults but that is hardly even necessary. My founder stocked the home pond with death fish so they can be fished at any time although it is usually a waste of time in the early evening. You can queue up to catch 5 fish and with bait usually 4 of them will be death fish. A level 5 will catch 4 worth about 800. On the top end an elder that has been fishing almost every day will catch 4 worth approximately $2600.
EA has made it a little too easy. I get the correct types of seeds in the same general area every day. I have the collection helper now but my founder was able to do quite well without it. I pick up 3 seeds a day when I remember. Since the same type of seed can be 4 things I usually add 4-5 trees a week from seeds and 2 from seeds that the money trees drop. The others will be death flowers, flame fruit, or life fruit. For some reason death flowers are not against the rules even though they can be used to cheat death. Life fruit can't be consumed but it can be sold. Flame fruit can be distributed among the family to help improve mood and the unused can be sold for money so it is still a good deal. I am not sure when the money trees die but so far they are almost all still in perfect quality and each tree averages about 1250 every two days.
So it is almost a waste of time to have a job. Right now 2 fisherman and 1 gardener can do about 14-15k a day and that increases every day.
The only thing I lose money on is rock, metal, and gem collecting. I haven't figured out when to get things cut so that they are more valuable after than before. So I only pick things up when they are near the seeds I want and other than analyzing space rock (which is free) I usually just sell as is now.
