When Sims cook food in their microwaves, they don't get the food items out of the fridge or pull them out of their "pockets" when they're standing in their kitchens. They carry them to the microwave from wherever they are before mealtime. My Sim apparently keeps a stash of breakfast burritos beside his bed.
