If you're anything like me, you keep tabs on the townies that are friends with your Sims and their stories can be pretty interesting even if they're not your active family, especially if they end up in a particularly sad place.In my Starlight Shores save, the Best family became good friends with my Sim's family, because they were the first to visit my founder when she moved in. Now the Catherine and Evan Best are elders and all of their kids have moved out. I noticed that after Paul Best (the grandfather) died the kids started moving out as teens because they couldn't stand living in the house with someone. Now that my sim witnessed Evan Best kissing Alora Platt at Catherine's party and the two divorced on the spot, I realized that Evan was the problem (that little ordeal gave my sim a -50 moodlet for days....). Now Catherine has moved out too and Evan is alone, divorced in the 7 bedroom house they used to share with their huge family and is now 5 days away from "Aging up" :| .That was the most depressing townie story I've seen, especially since the Best family is pretty affluent and has good traits, I didn't expect things to go off the rails like that so quickly!I'd like to hear your stories of times where Townies' lives have taken an unexpected turn for the worse!

I wouldn't exactly call mine "depressing" per say, but everytime sims in my town gossip I get the little blurp pop up about what they said (regardless of if it was any of my sims gossiping). So minimum 3 times per sim day, I get a pop up saying:"I heard that Pip Goodfellow is hiding a dark secret"What kind of dark secret does he have that he wants me to know so badly? :D

Oh I get those too. One of the child sims gossiped that one of their classmates was flat broke. lol

The saddest Townie stories I have seen aren't so much the ones that happen through my game-play, but rather the ones EA/Maxis created on purpose. Take the Langerak family for example (Sunset Valley), all any of them seem to want is to be reasonably happy but EA built misery into them by design. Dustin, the father, is a family oriented Sim who is married to a woman (Iliana) whose top priority is her job, not her family. So, he is neglected by his wife. His sister-in-law (Zelda) is a young flirty Sim with the 'childish' trait. So, he is incredibly drawn to her and there lies the problem. By design, Dustin will always lust after his sister-in-law and she will always crave his attention. They can't help it. Sometimes they give into it, while other times they try to hide and control it. Matters are made worst because EA/Maxis made it so Dustin is more in tune to his sister-in-law than his wife. If he betrays Iliana, he feels bad, while she is hurt and betrayed. If he disappoints Zelda, he feels bad (it's likened to having disappointed a child). In order for Dustin to find a bit of happiness (love/acceptance) he often cheats with other Sims. His children see this which makes Kaylynn (his daughter) angry and Parker (his son) seeking closer relationships with Sims who aren't in his household. I understand why EA/Maxis did this, to keep some element of drama in the game. I wouldn't have a problem with this if Sims were 'static or purely robotic' by design, but they're not, they learn and they remember.

@Jazzypoo - Yes, Agnes does have a tragic story. There's something strange about Agnes and Eric (her beloved). If you resurrect him, he doesn't know her and she doesn't know him. Yet, in his relationship panel he is listed as Gunther Goth's brother-in-law. I want to say maybe EA goofed when they finalized his character and their story -- but, I'm not so sure. Agnes' story is a part of the Sunset Valley mystery 'Who Killed Eric Darling', her house is made up of clues as is the Goth manor to his killer's identity. While their relationship panel could be an oversight, EA is known for creating some very twisted clues in their Sims Murder Mysteries. There is a Simmer named Crillsims3 who has a complete series about the hidden things/mysteries in this game titled 'Sim Facts'. The shows are highly entertaining and best of all Fact filled with no made up parts, just the clues EA put in their Sims games. If you want to see some truly creative (and sometimes frightening) Sim stories, I highly recommend giving this series a look-see. Okay after watching that video about the tragic clown...it makes me want to turn the ghost of a tragic clown into a tragic clown using the elixir from SN. lol

One thing I found funny about Crill's clown episode is how he overlooked what could have been an simple and obvious answer. The clown is 'clumsy', therefore he could've simply tripped, fell into the water and drowned.

I love his videos too, but he also missed the big fact that Lolita's last name is Goth in his investigation of who she was!

@Jazzypoo Same here, I thought Tragic clown drowned in his tears. Though if you want to know what happened to Erik Darling, watch the video in my signature! ;)
