Trying to tame this wild horse...
So, it didn't take long for a wild horse to come on my lot. Like just a couple minutes. XD Also, the ice cream truck did stop at my house. Woot! Only got to play for like 15 minutes on my lunch br...

My sim has developed a very strong friendship with one of the four wild horses in my town. She sees them at least once a day because she's out jogging around looking for wild critters (for the zoologist lifetime wish). She unfortunately didn't have enough riding skill to adopt the wild horse. So, like others have suggested, I finally decided to just adopt a horse from the shelter (its free!) so she could start working on her riding skill.
Hint: You will get a faster riding skill up rate by taking your newly adopted horse to the horse park (next to the Equestrian Competition place) and teaching him/her to either run the jumping course or the racing course. Just click on one of the gates and choose 'train jumping course' or the racing poles and choose 'train on racing course' ... either of these will work and after a bit of training your horse will get faster and more agile at it (less failures and rejections).
While riding around town does raise horse riding skill, it seems to me training at the park with those two above methods goes much faster.
I'm almost high enough riding skill now with my sim to adopt that beautiful wild horse, can't wait! :)
