Trying to tame this wild horse...

So, it didn't take long for a wild horse to come on my lot. Like just a couple minutes. XD Also, the ice cream truck did stop at my house. Woot! Only got to play for like 15 minutes on my lunch break, but it was worth it!

I'm trying to tame this horse, though. It's so pretty. Black and white, the kind I have always wanted since I was a little girl. I keep having my Sim put her hand out to let it sniff it, and it DID sniff it once, but it won't anymore. It just runs away. The friendship bar has just a little green sliver on it. My Sim is going to need to eat soon, though! And go to the bathroom! I don't want to leave the horse, though, b/c I'm afraid I'll never see it again. :(

Anyone read of tips or know of a way to tame wild horses? Makes sense that you can't do it right away, but I don't know how to find it again. :(

  • When I try and adopt wild horses. I wait until they're on a community lot.

    testingcheatsenabledtrue ---> Shift click lot ---> build on this lot----> build fence around horse

    That way, the horse can't run away from you. WIth the cheat on as well make the motives static so you don't have to leave. Then just stand ther and socialise with the horse until it trusts you OR you can use the same cheat to bump up the relationship bar
  • Ok, so I've had a bit of a problem with the relationship bar. I found a beautiful black horse in my neighborhood, which I'd really like to try to be best friends with so when I get the riding skill, I can quickly adopt him.

    I found this park that he keeps reappearing at and I got my sim to keep watching to horse. After a while, I go and see if it will sniff my hand. My face with a red cross comes up and it quickly darts away. I still don't see the relationship bar. Do I have to have it successfully sniff my hand first? :?
  • First shift ctrl and c push theses all together a box should come up on the left top corner.Type in testingcheatsenabled true.Then left click mouse button and shift click both together.There should be an obtion to add to family on the horse as well as edit in cas extra.I find this every helpful.
  • There is a cheat where you can add a sim to your household. This worked for a horse when I tried it. You hold down ctrl, shift, C button all at the same time and a dark colored text box comes up at the top of your screen, and your game pauses. You then type;

    testingcheatsenabled true

    then hit enter then you hold down the shift key while clicking on the horse. There will be action buttons that come up for that sim one will say add sim to house hold. click on it and that will add the wild horse to your house hold.
    I found a list of cheats at the site below

    Hope this helps
  • If your in Appaloosa Plains, usually around dawn and dusk (all night too but you cant really see them) the wild horses generally gather around cinnamon crest falls. You can also go on map view and you often see little dots moving around, check them all out because usually I find the herd. I've also noticed them around the graveyard.

    I know this is an old thread but what I did was "moveobjects on" in cheats and every time a wild horse came by I moved it into this huge room to keep until sim is high enough level. I know the horses don't despawn from the map but chasing them down with a vampire in daylight is lethal so now I have 3 grown and a foal on my lot with plenty of room to graze. If anyone does this be sure to not put a floor or roof so the horses can graze, and put a pond so they don't die of thirst.

    I steal other sims horses and then delete them, leaving a few families that breed horses out at all times. XP It's just like unlimited horses, if you befriend them you can ride them too, or at least thats the case on my world.
