TS4 things you miss in TS3 (this is no "which-is-better-discussion"!)

On the TS4 section of the forums, there are so many threads about what TS3 did better than TS4, but I'm interested in the opposite. If you play both games and switch between them like me, you may have noticed some features TS4 has that you miss when playing TS3. I have a few, but not soo many.

This thread isn't meant to bash any of the two games, and this is not supposed to end in a discussion about which game is better, it's just a little comparison thread.

In TS3, I miss:

  • being able to edit sims/families from Edit Town
  • being able to add new family members to the family tree without mods
  • that bars, nightclubs and lounges have no opening times
  • that teens can live on their own without mods

That's for me, which features from TS4 do you miss when playing TS3?

I'm glad you figured that out before it was too late. Back when I was homeschooling my children and taking them to the library every week, the librarian on the children's floor told us a friend of hers was dying of liver failure, from years of regular drinking of large amounts of cola.

    Deleted reference to dialysis

Dialysis is for kidney failure. The only cure for liver failure is a transplant.

Yes, but soda also contributes to kidney failure. ETA: If you drink a lot of it and especially if you develop Type 2 diabetes.

  • @Nikkei_Simmer I would definitely recommend Cities Skylines when you have something that can handle playing it. I'm actually playing on a PS4 because hubby wanted to play too and he'd never get a chance if it was on my computer. We started playing city building games way back when the first Sim City was on Super-Nintendo.
I do wish I had it on my PC though. My son built a gaming computer for me last year. We both bought the parts for it for 3-4 months, then he put it together and said it was a present for me for every holiday of that year.
  • My favorite part of the game is the ability to easily change households, so you can get a new perspective. It keeps the game very interesting. You don't have to keep creating new games from scratch, you just add to the existing world.
  • I also like

    • Advanced roofing tools
    • set heights for windows
    • 3 heights for walls
    • many heights for foundations
    • moods/emotions
    • multitasking
    • sims are more fashionable
  • Today was the first time I'd fired up Sims 3 since June 2016, so the immediate things I've noticed are:

CAS - hats not being separated, clothing categories taking forever to load, uglier Sims, no direct manipulation or individually adjustable body parts.

Routing- Sims standing around for ages tapping their feet

Build/Buy- no search tool, smaller objext thumbnails, no free placement of wall decorations or windows, no resizing objects

Other than those things though I'm having a blast. <3
  • Basically everything he ^ said.

All i want in life is easy resize and walk-through sims.
