I have created a third floor in my house. In this floor, I have a family room where my Sims can watch TV, use the computer, paint, etc. The stairs leads up to this room. Unfortunately, when they are in the room, the get the little paint can moodlet that says unfinished room (need to finish walls or floor) I have gone over every inch of the floor and wall. All seems fine. I can't figure out what is the problem.Please help!

That's... really weird. o-o If nothing happens you may need to use Testingcheatsenabled true and delete the moodlet yourself.

OH! I had that problem too... take out the stairs, make sure there is flooring where you want to put the stairs then put stairs back in. If you put in the stairs before you put in the flooring, the game sees those spaces as unfinished. It drove me mad for days when that happened to me because I couldn't see anything wrong with it.

I have also got this problem. I've done everything suggested. I've replaced the roof, moved the stairs, moved windows and doors, repainted the walls, nothing works. This house was build from scratch so I know I've done everything. I placed the floor before the stairs, all my walls and floors are painted, idk what to do.

^^ problem fixed, my game glitched and I literally saw it delete even more wall covering. Added them back now :)

Unfinished Room Moodlet -- How do I get rid of it?

The outside is good, too. it's strange because all the other rooms on the floor are fine. (bedrooms)

I've had this issue before as well. Make sure that all walls covered by doors, windows and arches are painted. You might have to move them to check the walls behind them. I had one piece of wall behind a window that didn't get painted somehow.

if all walls and floors are painted /covered its the roof . go to the roof tool and remove it then replace it . Sometimes the roof doesn't register the new floor until you remove the roof and place it again

The room is L-shaped, so I built a wall in front of the stairs, dividing it into two parts. I was able to determine that the problem was in section by the stairs, not by the sofa. I tried re-doing the stairs and moved the easel around. The I made my Sim paint to see if the unfinished moodlet came back. It didn't. So, the problem has fixed itself somehow, but I don't know how. :roll:

If it happens again, I will definitely try the roof idea. That's very clever.

When you were building the room, did you add the floor first or the stairs first? Unlike in Sims 2, build order matters in Sims 3. You have to put down the floor first and then the stairs or the Sims somehow "sense" the uncovered floor you can't get to where the stairs are.

I had the same thing until I removed the stairs and then covered the area where the stairs were and put them back and the moodlet went away.
