Unmerge merged CC question?

I have started merging my cc and I was going thru my cc to see if I had enough hair cc to merge into another package file and I noticed, finally, my first merged hair file was nearly 600,000KB in size. This was the first cc I ever merged so I wasn't good at judging how big to make the files and I have since learned to keep them around 200MB.

I don't think I still have the cc and I don't want to lose any pieces. Is there any way to unmerge them and make it into two merged files instead of one large one?

I did find this tutorial to unmerge cc, but I don't want to delete the files, I want to keep them and re-merge them into two files.

Any help is appreciated. I'm sure I'm really missing something simple, but since this isn't something I've done for long, I just don't want to mess anything up. TIA :)

  • It's all a long learning curve. I know I have too much CC but I need it.

I don't really have a "lot" of cc, not really. But I have been collecting more and more. I wish I hadn't deleted all my old cc, cause I had some great pieces and now days it seems to be getting harder and harder to find some of it as links are going dead.

I mostly like CAS cc, and it seems whenever I see a really great hairstyle, I never can find a good link for it. :(
  • I back my CC up on an external hard drive and only copy whenever I convert Sims 3 Packs to package files for installing.

I've only recently got actual external hard drives. Use to all I had was USB's and I'd use those for RL pictures, documents, and Sims save's. I now have a external just sims stuff but darned if I didn't think to backup my cc there. Just seemed to elude me, I suppose. :D :D

What's funny is I have Sims 1 and Sims 2 CC backed up on small discs in my closet, but backing up Sims 3 CC just didn't enter my brain. Probably cause Sims 3 is still relevant to me, so I tend to not think of it being an "old" game. Since I haven't moved on past it, I forget that others are.
  • I had similar issue at point to renove from new patch, wanting to know wich ones are on merged pakages, I enden deleting old merged package, downlaoding news actualized files and merge again. Cant save any old work.

    Hi

I don't know if you're still active but if yes can you tell me how a merged big package can be unmerged without the original packages?
For the record I did have backups but I lost them when following an accident I lost everything on the external hard drive I kept them on.

    Thanks
