@DillynJames I've never tried TS4 so have no idea how it works but I know my sims never have trouble finding sims out and about. Of course, I use mods so perhaps that might influence the number of sims I see around and they seem to be living full lives when I watch them in map view, including finding love and training toddlers.
It's true that Late Night bars are not bustling as we were given to expect but if I place just one or two bars in a town they are always packed! I think Bridgeport is a problem because the population simply can't fill that many bars.
