"Walls Up" or "Walls Down" (2012 was the last time this question was asked)

For me it depends on the size of the house and the number of Sims who reside there. Small houses and apartments, I play with the walls halfway up (even if it's only a single sim living there). Large spacious places, I play with the walls completely up. Additionally, when there are a lot of Sims in the home, I play with half walls so I can easily see what everyone is doing. :)
