Well, that is new!

I have never seen anything like this in the game before. I was editing the building, looking for store content. The simplest way to find it is to use the recolor tool and click on it, because the symbol for the expansion or stuff pack, or the store or CC symbol will be on the recolor thumbnail. But then this happened. The arrow was moving back and forth to draw my attention to the item. I was not able to do anything at all, and had to close the game with the Windows task manager.

  • I've had that happen with cc before, but never store content. I've been able to get out of it by using one of the function buttons to get out of it. I will quit and remove that cc from the mod folder. It's probably happened 3 times over the years, but not sure which button I pushed. I was probably randomly hitting them.

@Karritz You're right. I didn't even notice that, because I was so focused on the notification panel and the arrow.

That has happened to me a few times over the years. I just assumed it was due to file corruption of the object, so I made a note of it and moved on since it didn't really affect my overall game. In no case have I had to force the game closed though so, I don't know what happened with your game. Also, I didn't get the moving arrow, just the warning.

I was looking for store content, but that item isn't store content. It looks like it has the Showtime symbol on the thumbnail. I might try that again, and remove it if it happens again.

It might be a memory problem. You might just need to shut down and relaunch to stop it from happening. In some of my games I have to shut down and relaunch each time after about 2 or 3 saves. And I have to save often. I also have very overstuffed households with lots of store and other content in their homes and huge gardens all of which chews up memory.

OK, I guess that could be it. I was spending the day building, which I do know takes more memory than playing.

I looked at the item in the consignment shop again, and it's from Ambitions. It's something the doctors use. I'm surprised it isn't a buy debug item, but it's in the buy catalog.

The reason I thought it might be a memory issue is the bottom dashboard is only partially there. It's hard to see if it's got a ragged right edge or not. Once the memory can't keep track of itself anything weird can happen. I find sometimes I can get out of this type of situation with the memory giving out by using the F1 or F2 or F3 key. Sometimes it works and sometimes not.
