I am a dedicated sims 3 player. But i want to spice up my game to make it more intereting. Can you guys give me reccomendations about mods that i should download or maybe even challanges that you like to play?

Beyond that, it really depends on what you want in your game and how you like to play. For example, Enhanced Vampires is popular but wouldn't matter to anyone who doesn't like supernatural sims. So it would make the question easier to answer if you could describe what you like to do and any annoyances you'd like to address.
If you're looking for inspiration, check out mods from Buzzler and icarus_allsorts from Mod the Sims. Some of these fit into the "I never knew I needed this until just now" category, like Builder Stuff or User-directed Scolding, respectively. Both these modders' creations have been extensively tested and are compatible with all other content unless otherwise noted on the download pages.

ID Catalogue search- LIFESAVER! Sometimes I can't find an item in game, because its buried. This mod adds a search feature like
the sims 4 has. I will never play without this mod again.

BluegenJutsu's No formalize for proper trait- I love the proper trait, but hated that they kept wearing formal so this fixes that.

As for Challenges, I am doing my own Medieval Challenge at the moment. Using the custom world of Praaven.
@graceymanors Linking mods and custom content here is fine now; the rules changed a while back for Sims 4, and therefore Sims 3 by extension. The only restriction is we still can't mention 18+ content.
I like your list and hadn't heard of a couple of the mods. I would mention though that anyone thinking about recipe mods should make sure that they don't conflict. Recipes themselves shouldn't, but if they're part of an ingredients overhaul, they could overwrite each other at least in part.

And yeah, the main recipe mod I use, requires CC Loader and I believe overrides a few things, which I'm fine with but probably should be mentioned.
