I just started a game with two female roommates, and one of my first tasks is get enough money for a plumbot to do the cooking, cleaning, gardening, and nanny when the kids come along. But this time, I didn't put a plumbot store in town. I decided to go to Oasis Landing and buy one there.
Once they picked enough flowers, sold enough insects, etc, to afford the trip, they headed off to the future to pick out their new plumbot helper. Emit gave them a few tasks like he does, and one of them was to fly around with a jetpack. Then take a look at the statues of important people in the town square. Low and behold, both of them got a wish to "check the lotto records" while they were near the City Hall. *evil grin* Well, who am I to deny them that?
So once they returned back to their present time, they "played the lottery" and sure enough, they won $100,000. I donated $50k of it to the "Plan for the Future Fund" and earned the statue for the first time. Then they built a plumbot store in town with the rest and are making a fortune selling plumbots to the rest of the town.
Now to find them husbands who love them for them and not for their money. :D In the meantime, they're quite happy with their plumbot since I gave him the "capacity to love" chip. I'll say no more. o:)
PS: If you really are making more money than you know what to do with, you can use NRaaS Money Module in Story Progression to increase the property tax rate AND the income tax rate.
