Hey everyone. :) I've been playing Sunset Valley (along with the W mod) and I just made some CRAZY things happen yesterday and today with the Langerak Family. Hee hee ;) Well, I thought I would pick on this family for the fun of it. They seemed to have some dysfunction going on. Iliana (the mom) is a workaholic, Dustin (the dad) is lazy but loves family (he was in the criminal career when I started playing them. Not a good suit for his personality so I made him quit. He now has a part-time job at the bookstore). Their daughter Kaylynn seems to take care of everything while her older brother Parker, rebels and pays more attention to wooing girls than anything else. And to add craziness to the family, Iliana's sister Zelda Mae needed a place to live so, in she went. That is the original story of this family. Now for what I did to them. Lol! ;) Iliana didn't like how much of a slob Dustin is and he in turn didn't like how much of a workaholic she is. And little did Iliana know that her husband and sister were...doing a lot of romantic things in secret while she was at work. ;) Well, for a while she didn't know but then she was able to catch on. In anger she turned to her secret crush from work (Thornton Wolff) and begin having romantic relations with him. Meanwhile the kids are not exactly sure what has been going on...and Dustin and Zelda Mae had a risky woo hoo one night. Zelda got pregnant days later. At this time Dustin decided he had enough with Iliana and divorced her. Iliana then moved in with Thornton. Later, minutes before Zelda went into labor, Dustin proposed to her. The kids were pretty happy about it, they never saw much of their mother anyway. (Funny, this new baby would be their half-brother AND cousin...weird. ;) ) A baby boy was born and they named him Link (sorry, I couldn't help myself ;) ). Dustin and Zelda go off on a honeymoon and leave Parker and Kaylynn to care for the baby and the home while they are gone. (Seriously?) Well, Dustin asks the girl he's had a crush on for a while to Prom (River McIrish) and they go together and end up falling so hard for each other they become boyfriend and girlfriend. The next day, with the parents still gone, Parker is DYING to see River again and goes over to her house. They get frisky and...I'm pretty sure River is pregnant. Lol! And that's where I left my game for today. Had to get back to reality. :) I love how I can screw up sims lives or make them do things I would NEVER DO!!! It's so much fun! ;)
So what happened in your game today? Can we keep this thread going for a while? :)
MAJOR UPDATE (July 23rd, 2024): ^I can't believe I asked that and then 10 years later here we are. 😊 Oh what a beautiful ride it has been. 💗
Anyway, due to the fact that this thread is thousands of pages long with hundreds of thousands of comments, you will for sure want to click on the drop down box below, off to the right a little, and choose "Newest" to see the newest posts on this amazing thread or you will be clicking the "More" button for all of eternity! 🤣 And yeeeeah you don't want to be doing that. 😬
Also, due to the migration to the new EA forum here, 95% of the pictures shared throughout the years in each post will not show up...so if you're wondering where all the images went, they unfortunately disappeared into the internet void. (Also those who posted via Photobucket before big changes were made on that site, lost photos years ago). Anyway, just a friendly FYI. 😊
But yeah, let's see how much longer we can keep this thread going y'all! 😏 And please - cause I am still here and plan to stay here for as long as I can - do share with me...What happened in your Sims 3 game today? 😁
When I first started playing the Sims 3 in 2014 - which was also the first time I played any Sims game at all - I created a female Sim to live, basically, my dream life. Augusta lived on a houseboat in Isla Paradiso, was a self-employed artist, went on World Adventures, went scuba-diving and married a red-haired writer called Aidan, whom I created for her. They eventually had a red-haired daughter. Awesome! But, since it was my first time playing any Sims game, I was absolutely in over my head. I didn't have any experience with taking care of a sim's basic needs and skills, and I was trying to fight mummies and sharks!
So I decided to reboot my first ever gameplay, but this time I will actually know what I'm doing! I didn't want to remake Augusta and Aidan from scratch. I remade them from the actual same sims I played then, but I changed their looks completely because I was terrible at CAS back then too. (Luckily, my graphic settings were also terrible so I rarely had a good look at their faces!)
PalmArrowWhat a fun thing to do! 😃 I love Augusta and Aiden's new looks too. I look forward to reading about all their adventures. 😊
I had a similar experience when I was a new player. I played some of the original Sims just before Sims 2 came out, and when it did, I created my parents and their first 4 children (they had 7 altogether, I'm #6 🙂) and needless to say I went WAY over my head for still being a rookie sims player! (But I was just so excited sims could have kids! 😃) I didn't know how to fulfill everyone's needs either and eventually my mom died in the game......because she was so busy taking care of all the kids, I forgot to have her take care of herself. It was the most devastating thing I had ever witnessed at the time and it messed me up emotionally for a few days. 😢
Nevertheless, I learned a valuable lesson from that and went back to the game starting with just one sim and learning the ropes. 👍🏻
(Oh and in case anyone is wondering, yes, my mother is still alive. 😆🙏🏻 Healthy and wonderful as ever. She and my dad just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. 💗)
Love the new look! And look forward to the new story. I came to Sims 3 in 2014 also, with only Sims Freeplay experience. Still hooked on it 10 years later.
Hey my friends. 😊 Are y'all still with me on here? 😉 It's gotten much too quiet over here.....
But I do understand everyone. It's been a hot mess around here...and frustrating to say the least. ((((Hugs))))
I can assure y'all that the folks from EA are definitely hearing our feedback and requests for this forum to be less buggy and a more user friendly environment. And they are doing the best they can on their end to implement it. ⭐ A lot of the requested changes require adding more features to the forum which unfortunately takes more time to do than we all realize. So while it might seem like nothing is happening, it is. It's just a matter of time. 🎵 Tiiiiiiime, why you punish me? 🎶😜 ^Sorry y'all know me and my musical tourettes. 😄 Anyhoo, trust me on this, ok? 😘 If you really can't handle the way the forum is right now - which I completely understand 💗 - then make it a point to come back here in the months to come and discover how much nicer this place will be for us all. 👍🏻 I always wanna keep in touch with every one of you lovely people. 🤗 So please come back.
And now without futher adieu, it's time for me to share a few pictures of some of my gameplay from this past week.
I've been playing around in the Christmas Village world to prepare it for my Christmas story this year and there's a few fun things I've discovered. 😊
I never would've thought to use sand piles to illustrate piles of snow (recolored) from drifts, from shoveled sidewalks and plowed roads, clumps of snow that's fallen off roofs, etc. So freaking clever! ⭐ Kudos to you Rflong7 ! 👏🏻 Check out how much more realistic it makes the wintry world look and feel:
I even took it a step further and added snow piles on top of some of the roofs:
I'm ALL about realism y'all! 🙌🏻
While I was decorating up a community lot I noticed Santa and his reindeer drawn sleigh riding by, frozen in time for a bit as I worked on the lot. 😄 (Almost like they were stopped at a stoplight. Lol!) It put such a bright smile on my face. 😊
I might've captured him and Mrs. Claus getting cozy in the snow under the stars earlier... 😏💗
And here's Declan in LIVE mode. 🥰
^So handsome. 💗
And lastly, I thought I would try my hand at creating Declan on the new InZOI character creation demo that came out on Steam the other day. 👏🏻 (I hope this is ok to post... 😬 If not, please let me know. It's all in good fun. 😘 ) Here he is!
Not too shabby right? 😉 Hot stuff! 😍
Well that's it from me for now my friends. Hope you're all having a great day and keep the posts coming. 😘
I'm still here. Just been busy trying to find a world for my BATB/HM story. I did find the victorian world, and I have to manually fix the missing items.
I love those piles of snow/sand in the Christmas world!
And it's awesome that the inZOI character builder works for you. If it worked for me it would completely take over my life! 😀 The inZOI version of Declan looks great.
Maurice climbed onto his horse, Philippe, and set off down the path that led to the fair. Elizabeth watched until he disappeared from sight, then turned back to the cottage, already planning the tasks she would tackle in his absence.
Maurice rode through the forest, the trees arching overhead to form a green canopy that filtered the morning light into dappled patterns on the ground. Philippe’s hooves clopped steadily along the dirt path, and Maurice hummed a cheerful tune, his thoughts on the fair and the possibilities it held.
But as the morning wore on, the forest grew denser, the path less clear. Maurice frowned, glancing around uncertainly. The familiar route seemed to have changed, and an uneasy feeling crept into his heart. Just as he was about to turn back and reassess his direction, a low growl echoed through the trees.
Maurice’s heart skipped a beat as he saw movement in the underbrush. A pack of wolves emerged, their eyes gleaming with predatory intent. Philippe whinnied in fear, his ears pinned back.
“Easy, Philippe,” Maurice whispered, trying to calm the horse while he kept his own fear in check.
But the wolves advanced, snarling and baring their teeth. Philippe reared up, his fear overcoming him, and with a wild cry, he bolted off the path and into the thick of the forest. Maurice clung to the reins, trying to steady himself as the horse galloped wildly through the trees.
Branches whipped past, scratching at Maurice’s face and tearing at his clothes. He held on for dear life, praying for Philippe to find a safe path. The wolves gave chase for a while but eventually fell behind, their howls fading into the distance.
After what felt like an eternity, Philippe finally slowed, his frantic pace easing into a nervous trot. Maurice patted the horse’s neck, trying to soothe him. “It’s alright, boy. We’re safe now.”
But as Maurice looked around, he realized they were far from any path he recognized. The forest here was dark and foreboding, the trees twisted and gnarled. An eerie silence hung in the air, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves.
In the distance, Maurice spotted a break in the trees. He urged Philippe forward, hoping to find some sign of civilization. As they emerged from the forest, Maurice’s eyes widened in astonishment. Before him stood a grand, yet ominous, mansion. Its towering spires and intricate architecture were shrouded in an air of mystery and decay. The iron gates, slightly ajar, creaked in the wind.
Maurice hesitated for a moment, but the memory of the wolves and the growing darkness of the forest urged him forward. He guided Philippe through the gates and up the overgrown path to the mansion’s entrance. Dismounting, he approached the massive wooden doors and knocked hesitantly.
“Hello?” he called, his voice echoing in the stillness. “Is anyone there? I need help!”
The doors creaked open slowly, as if by an unseen hand, revealing a dimly lit interior. Maurice swallowed his fear and stepped inside, hoping to find shelter and perhaps a way to get back on the right path.
Inside, the mansion was grand but eerie, filled with shadows that seemed to move on their own. Dust covered the once-luxurious furnishings, and cobwebs hung like delicate curtains from the chandeliers. Maurice’s footsteps echoed on the marble floor as he ventured further inside, calling out for help.
“Hello? Please, is anyone here?”
As he wandered through the dark, silent halls, Maurice couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up, and he quickened his pace, hoping to find someone—anyone—who could assist him. Little did he know, his arrival at the mansion would set into motion a chain of events that would change his life—and Elizabeth’s—forever.
As Maurice ventured deeper into the mansion, the sound of his footsteps echoed off the high ceilings, the eerie silence of the grand hall amplifying every creak and rustle. Unbeknownst to him, he was not alone. From the shadowed upper floor, two pairs of eyes watched his every move.
April, the maid, stood nervously beside the banister, her hands wringing the edges of her apron. Her ghostly form shimmered faintly in the dim light, a soft blue glow that she was careful to keep hidden. Though her appearance was now ethereal, April’s nervous demeanor remained much the same as it had been in life. She glanced anxiously at the tall, regal figure beside her, Ramsley, the butler of the mansion. Ramsley was calm and collected, his posture straight and dignified, and his ghostly appearance was similarly concealed, giving the impression of a man still very much in control of his surroundings.
“Ramsley,” April whispered, her voice trembling slightly, “we shouldn’t be letting him in. What if the master finds out? You know how he—”
“Ah, April,” Ramsley interrupted with a smooth, reassuring tone, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. “The master has not had a visitor in many years. And this poor fellow looks quite weary, doesn’t he? It would be the height of rudeness to leave him out there, lost and alone. We must show him the hospitality this house was once known for.”
“But Ramsley,” April protested, her eyes wide with worry, “what if he discovers who we really are? And what if the master—”
Ramsley raised a hand, silencing her. “We’ll worry about that later. For now, we have a guest, and it is our duty to make him feel welcome. Come, April, this could be our chance to remind ourselves of what we once were—before the curse.”
“Good evening, sir,” Ramsley greeted with a warm, welcoming smile, bowing slightly. “I apologize for the delay in our response. This mansion is quite large, and it takes a moment to reach the entrance. How may we assist you?”
Maurice, still rattled from his encounter with the wolves and the unsettling atmosphere of the mansion, returned the bow, though his own was a bit more awkward. “Good evening,” he said, his voice tinged with both relief and curiosity. “I’m terribly sorry to intrude, but I was on my way to the fair when I was attacked by wolves. My horse brought me here, and I was hoping… well, I was hoping to find some shelter.”
“Wolves, you say?” Ramsley’s expression turned to one of concern, though he quickly masked it with a reassuring smile. “You’re quite fortunate to have found us, then. The forest can be dangerous at night. Please, allow me to offer you a place to rest. It would be our pleasure to assist you.”
Maurice’s shoulders relaxed slightly at Ramsley’s kindness. “Thank you, sir. You’re most kind.”
Ramsley brought Maurice to the mansion’s grand library, an enormous room lined with towering shelves filled with dusty tomes and ancient volumes. The fireplace, though dark and cold, still held the memory of warmth, and the master’s chair—a large, ornate armchair upholstered in rich, deep red velvet—stood near the hearth.
“Please, make yourself comfortable,” Ramsley said, gesturing to the chair. “This room was once the heart of the mansion, a place of knowledge and reflection. I’m sure you’ll find it to your liking.”
Maurice looked around, awed by the vastness of the library and the grandeur of the room. He approached the chair and sank into its soft cushions, grateful for the comfort after his harrowing journey. “This is… remarkable,” he murmured, his eyes wandering over the shelves of books. “I’ve never seen such a collection.”
Ramsley smiled, his eyes glinting with a touch of pride. “The master was an avid collector of rare and valuable works. Many of these books have not been read in years. Perhaps you’ll have time to peruse them while you rest.”
April, standing just behind Ramsley, could hardly contain her anxiety. She tugged at Ramsley’s sleeve, her voice barely a whisper. “Ramsley, we need to be careful. What if he starts asking questions? What if—”
“Hush, April,” Ramsley whispered back, his tone gentle but firm. “Everything is under control. We’ll keep him comfortable, and then we’ll find a way to help him on his way. No harm will come of it.”
But as Maurice settled into the chair, April couldn’t shake the feeling of impending doom. She hovered nervously by the doorway, her ghostly form flickering faintly in the dim light, ready to warn Ramsley if things began to go wrong.
Maurice, oblivious to the undercurrent of tension between the two, sighed in relief, feeling the exhaustion of his journey catch up with him. “Thank you,” he said again, his voice filled with gratitude. “You’ve been most kind. I’m not sure what I would have done without your help.”
As Ramsley and April began to make their way out of the library, the heavy atmosphere of the mansion suddenly grew even more oppressive. The air seemed to thicken, and a cold, unnatural wind swept through the hall, extinguishing what little light remained. Both April and Ramsley froze in their tracks, their ghostly forms flickering with anxiety.
From the shadows of the grand hall emerged a towering figure, shrouded in darkness. The creature’s heavy footsteps echoed ominously, each one sending a jolt of fear through the hearts of the mansion’s spectral servants. As the figure stepped into the faint light that filtered through the dusty windows, its monstrous form was revealed—a hulking beast with sharp, jagged features, burning eyes, and a deep growl rumbling from its chest.
It was William Gracey, the master of the mansion, but no longer the man he once was. The curse laid upon him by Madam Leota had transformed him into a terrifying beast, his once-handsome visage now twisted into something grotesque and fearsome. His jacket, tattered and worn, hung heavily from his broad shoulders, and his claws, long and sharp, gleamed in the dim light
Who dares to trespass in my home?” William’s voice was a deep, guttural growl, filled with anger and suspicion. His burning eyes fixed on Ramsley and April, his expression dark and dangerous. “Who let this stranger in?”
April shrank back, her ghostly form trembling with fear. “I—I’m sorry, Master,” she stammered, her voice barely audible. “We didn’t mean—”
Ramsley, though inwardly as anxious as April, maintained his composure. He stepped forward, trying to placate the enraged master. “Master Gracey, please,” he began, his voice steady but respectful. “This man is lost and in need of shelter. He meant no harm—”
William’s growl cut him off, his eyes narrowing dangerously. “You brought him here? Into my home? Without my permission?” His gaze flicked to Maurice, who was now wide-eyed with fear, shrinking back into the chair. “Who are you?” William demanded, his voice a thunderous roar that echoed through the grand hall. “Why have you come here?”
Maurice, trembling, tried to gather the courage to speak. “I—I’m just a traveler,” he stuttered, his voice shaking. “My horse was spooked by wolves… I didn’t mean to intrude… Please, I didn’t know this place was—”
William’s roar silenced him. “Lies!” he snarled, his massive form looming over Maurice. “You dare trespass in my home and then lie to me? I should tear you apart right here!”
“Master, please!” Ramsley interjected, stepping between William and Maurice, his voice urgent. “He’s just a harmless old man. He meant no offense. Let us help him on his way, and we’ll make sure he never speaks of this place.”
But William was beyond reasoning. His monstrous form radiated fury, and the curse that had twisted him into this beast had also heightened his paranoia and rage. “You think I can just let him go?” he growled, his eyes burning with suspicion. “What if he tells others? What if he brings them here?”
Maurice, now shaking uncontrollably, raised his hands in a pleading gesture. “I swear, I won’t tell anyone! Just let me go, please—”
But William’s mind was made up. With a swift, terrifying movement, he grabbed Maurice by the collar, lifting the old man off the ground as if he weighed nothing. “You’ve seen too much,” William hissed, his voice low and dangerous. “I can’t let you leave.”
“Master, no!” April cried out, stepping forward in a desperate attempt to intervene. “Please, don’t hurt him!”
For the first time in months I picked up a brand new game that wasn't anything to do with Evergreen and it's been a lot of fun! I caught these gorgeous photos of the estate in the seasons and my question to you - are you team Autumn or Winter?
Astrid returns to the cabin with a host of tales about her adventures around Moonlight Falls, including who she met along the way. Will Andromeda seize the opportunity to meet Frida and Victoria Goth at long last?
“Good morning, Elizabeth,” Gaston greeted, his voice dripping with self-assurance. “I was just passing by and thought I’d pay you a visit.”
Elizabeth forced a polite smile, though she could feel her patience wearing thin. “Good morning, Gaston,” she replied, keeping her tone civil. “I appreciate the visit, but I’m quite busy at the moment.”
Gaston stepped inside without waiting for an invitation, his eyes scanning the cottage with a critical gaze. “Busy, you say? What could possibly be more important than spending time with me?” He chuckled, as if the very idea was absurd.
Elizabeth suppressed a sigh and turned back to her chores, hoping to convey that she wasn’t interested in a long conversation. “I have chores to do, and my father has gone to the fair. I need to make sure everything is in order for when he returns.”
Gaston waved a dismissive hand, stepping closer to her. “Oh, come now, Elizabeth. A beautiful girl like you shouldn’t be wasting her time on chores. You should be thinking about your future, about settling down with someone who can take care of you.”
Elizabeth felt her patience snap, but she kept her voice calm. “Gaston, I’ve told you before, I’m not interested in marriage right now. I have my own dreams, my own life to live.”
Gaston’s smirk faltered for a moment, replaced by a look of confusion. “Dreams? What kind of dreams could be better than becoming my wife? You’d have everything you could ever want—wealth, status, admiration from everyone in town. You’d be the envy of every woman here!”
Elizabeth turned to face him, her expression resolute. “Gaston, I’m not looking for wealth or status. I want to live my life on my own terms, not just be someone’s wife. I want to learn, to explore, to make my own choices. That’s not something you can give me.”
Gaston’s confusion deepened, and his brow furrowed as he tried to understand. “But why would you want to do all that when you could have me?” He stepped closer, his tone becoming more insistent. “Elizabeth, you’re the most beautiful woman in the village, and I’m the most handsome, the strongest. We’re perfect for each other. Everyone knows it. You should be my wife, and together, we’ll be unstoppable.”
Elizabeth took a step back, shaking her head. “Gaston, you don’t understand. I don’t love you. I don’t want to marry you.”
The rejection hit Gaston harder than he expected. His smirk vanished entirely, replaced by a flash of anger that he quickly masked with another smile, though it was strained. “You don’t know what you’re saying, Elizabeth. You’ll see that I’m the best choice for you. No one else in this village could ever offer you what I can.”
Elizabeth’s expression softened, but her resolve remained firm. “I’m sorry, Gaston, but my answer is no. I’m not going to marry you.”
Gaston’s eyes darkened, his pride stung by her refusal. He stepped closer, towering over her, his voice low and threatening. “You might say no now, but mark my words, Elizabeth—I will make you my wife. No one else deserves you, and I always get what I want.”
Elizabeth stood her ground, meeting his gaze without flinching. “I will never marry someone who doesn’t respect my choices, Gaston. You may think you can force me into this, but you’re wrong.”
Gaston stared at her for a long moment, his jaw clenched, before turning sharply on his heel and storming out of the cottage. As he left, he cast one last glance over his shoulder, his eyes filled with a mix of frustration and determination.
“Remember what I said, Elizabeth,” he warned. “You’ll be mine, one way or another.”
"Can you believe it?! He asked me to marry him? That brainless, borish...."
he warm glow of the sun slowly began to fade, casting long shadows across the countryside. Elizabeth finished her chores, trying to push away the lingering unease from her encounter with Gaston. She stepped outside the cottage, her eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of her father. The familiar sight of his horse, Philippe, carrying his invention to the fair should have been visible by now. But as the minutes ticked by, there was no sign of either.
Just as worry started to creep into her thoughts, she heard the frantic clattering of hooves approaching from the distance. Her heart leaped with hope, expecting to see her father returning home. But as the figure came into view, her heart sank. It was Philippe, galloping toward the cottage at full speed—but her father was nowhere to be seen.
“Philippe!” Elizabeth called out, rushing toward the horse as it skidded to a stop in front of the cottage. The horse was breathing heavily, its eyes wide with fear, and its saddle was askew, as if it had been in a panic. “Where’s Papa?” she asked, her voice trembling as she gently stroked Philippe’s mane, trying to calm the frightened animal.
Philippe whinnied nervously, nudging Elizabeth with his nose as if trying to communicate something urgent. Elizabeth’s mind raced. Something must have happened to her father, something terrible. He would never leave Philippe behind like this unless he was in danger.
Went back to Sunset Valley to play an old sim of mine. When I looked around for things that perhaps needed fixing since I last played, I spotted this... "The whole beach is empty, so I think I place my towel in the middle of the beach bar."
Back again to try and catch up more. It was one heck of a week at work and then the newest Zelda game came out and it was my reward for surviving the week at work. So I've barely acknowledged the existence of Sims for a few days haha. Well maybe whatever issues the forums were giving me have cleared up in that time so I can post without losing all my sanity.
Just Brooke and Eric being cute and sitting next to each other in class. I'll take the chance to point out that he is clearly also a musical artist because I snuck a peak at his sketchbook and its... not good. Brooke isn't much better.
Anyway that's pretty much it for Brooke's first couple terms of university, not much very eventful. I did get Brooke to go to party after final exams, she was a little late because of her last exam. Just a little late and the host was packing away the keg and kicking everybody out. Like it was like an hour late, what kind of party ENDS an hour after it was supposed to start isn't that when it actually starts?
Back in Moonlight Falls for a little break and it was a whole like... 2 days before Brooke missed Eric too much and invited him to come stay with her for a bit. And 2 more days of him being there before they decided they never want to be apart again and he agreed to just move in.
They took a little adventure to Champs Les Sims during the break from school. Did a little bit of adventuring exploring the catacombs.
Eric was always leading the way to new rooms in case any dangers were present, keeping his girl safe.
They eventually stumbled upon a bottle of nectar and a tent, had a little drink and a little fun in the tent. I'd think the literal skeleton right there would kill the mood but sure, okay, I guess.
And they finished the catacombs in their underwear🤷♀️
It was one heck of a week at work and then the newest Zelda game came out and it was my reward for surviving the week at work. So I've barely acknowledged the existence of Sims for a few days haha.
^ Dreamerz13 What a lovely way to reward yourself. 😊 👍🏻 In Italics: Annnnd that's probably why I won't be getting the new Zelda game anytime soon because everything in my life will be forgotten! 😆 (And that's really not good being a wife and mom. Lol!) Zelda games are the legit BEST! ⭐ Next to Final Fantasy games. 😁
Enjoyed your gameplay update. 😊 Brooke and Eric are so cute together. 💗 Where did you find her cc hair?
Not playing my usual story line yet, but I think I'll find time to start doing so in November. Right now I'm checking out World Adventures a little bit for the first time (I only bought the expansion pack earlier this year, as the very last one I'm going to buy). Now I own every expansion pack except for the one with Isla Paridisio (I heard it's buggy...) and Showtime (because you can't combine the singer career with a band so it sounds useless to me).
So I sent my simself to Shang Simla to meet the locals, and in doing so I thought it was kind of boring how the place didn't have a nightlife-esque hangout and how the towers on each corner of the Forbidden City were all seemingly empty.
So I built a restaurant/bar/disco in the east tower. I left the exterior unchanged, with no advertising or other such ugly looking things to pollute the look of the historic area, so one kind of has to know it's there to figure out that there's actually something inside. ;)
This is your view after entering through the front door. Some lightweight walls have been put up to seperate the tiny restaurant area from the hallway and the stairs leading up into the tower.
The tiny restaurant. The rug is a diner. The restaurant itself only has four eating spots, the two chairs by the bar and the the ones by the table on the right. The bar is only for decoration or to serve as an eating spot.
View from inside the bar. A restroom is found behind the white door to the left (it's behind the staircase).
So where's the actual bar and the disco? Well... to find that, you have to walk around to the backside of the tower and locate an anonymous looking staircase down into the basement...
Your view from the foot of the stairs after walking down. Doesn't look like much..
..but as you turn right around the corner, you'll notice there's a pretty big bar there. Dimly lit in a comfortable flame light, just the way I like it. ;)
As you walk up to the bar and turn around, you'll notice what appears to be a dance floor and a couple of tables with dining chairs on them. Not the biggest place, but I wanted it to fit under the foundation of the tower, with the exception of the toilet and staircase area, which does extend outside of it.
The view from the dance floor reveals the location of the restrooms.
Top down view of the tiny restaurant.
Top down view of the basement. I haven't tested it yet to see if it fills with people. Also, I'm deliberately staying away from exploring tombs and secret places etc. I want to reserve that for my story line families if they should decide to go there at some point. ;)
Sprottenham How clever! I LOVE it! 😀 And it looks amazing! Great decor choices! Seriously, awesome job! ⭐ I wish I could add it to my Shang Simla world. 😉
But you've given me an idea to consider so thank you for sharing!
Thanks. I consider this to be a pretty low effort build though, relatively speaking. Also, I don't think I had to many choices with the decor as it had to fit into the Chinese/asian world, or it wouldn't make sense. :P
And also with the restrictions on the building set by the local town council. You just do not mess around to much in areas of great historical importance! :P ;)
I'm not even going to talk about the paper mill of forms the restaurant owner had to fill out to even be allowed to make these changes.... :P
It's finally looking and feeling like Fall over here in AR. 🍂🍁 I've been enjoying it greatly. 🥰
I just finished building a couple of big sets for my Christmas story in game and it was super fun! 😁 I still have a few other little sets to do as well. I'm getting all the more excited to share the story with y'all come Dec 1st! (I know it's gonna get here FAST so I gotta get hoppin' with the pictures! 😬)
For now, here's a picture of the leading man - Declan 💗 - having gotten bored to sleep by one of the other sims. 😆
Hope y'all are having a lovely Sunday so far. It's been great to hear from a few of you and I hope to hear more from the rest of you. 😉 Your posts always add a bit of sunshine to my day. 🌞
I've been playing a little bit in Cities Skylines and have noticed this graveyard that we end up getting to put all our deceased cims in if we aren't mean and just send them to the crematorium (man, that's morbid). My cims have a bad habit of dying off in prodigious numbers in Cities Skylines. I seriously suck at keeping them alive.
I got the idea that this graveyard lot would be a great lot to put in one of my Sims 3 worlds. But it would be a 50x50 at least or a 64x64 in Sims 3.
Can you imagine the thought of using Cities Skylines to flesh out one's Sims stories (bigger town) etc etc. I've seriously thought about it... that is if I can get a mod camera that takes me practically down to sidewalk level.
