I keep a level 10 photography sim in the library bin with a couple plates of ambrosia in her inventory and pictures in her camera. I pull her out anytime I want pictures and everything is saved. And the household objects keep their upgrades too. Not sure about putting pictures on the wall, others have had issues with those saving. But inventory has always worked for me.
