After 9 years I still have it, the original house which was much extended growing out of Sunset Valley and then transported to my world a few years later. Tha'ts really solid house!My sims primarily lived at premade houses near the launch and it wasn't until after couple generations I built my first house in TS3. I don't have any pictures, but it was trying to resemble a traditional Finnish summer cottage without electricity and other comforts. Oh, and it had an attic.

My first house was not a build for a long time,always had a thing for the Mosquito Cove home on 36 sim lane in Sunset Valley.It was to be my home of choice many games cause it reminded me of Dudley's trailer from Bustin Out on console and loved the challenge of decorating it without expanding it.Afterwards it was the same but with the Americana 442 Skyborough Blvd instead in SV too,it just was fun turning a boring box into something cool just by changing the siding and designing the interior.After all that came my first built homes which were intentionally just a boring small inexpensive box because starting that way is fun.Even to this day.The only difference is have to utilize that box but can build onto it unlike when I started.

I think my sister built my first house for TS3? I'm not entirely sure.

The Monotone in Sunset Valley,a good place to start to me back then and later on add on to and expand ,especially after spiral staircases became available.Course for the sim I played back then,she was just bidding her time till either the Goths or the Altos were separated (it kinda annoyed me that Vita Alto who applied make-up with a trowel got to live in such a grand estate on the hill) lol! Now I kinda like building my own mini-castles with multi level basements to house all the treasures from adventuring.

Living large ;) I'm an old lady now. I can't remember what I did in 2009. I probably spent three days building something or renovating a SV house which would also take me days. That's my style... or, use to be. Now I try not to be so picky.The house I remember playing some time in is the Pacer Place premade lot in Appaloosa Plains. I had a lot of fun expanding that place.

My Sims first house was the Per-Fabulous Home! :)

I often extended into the backyard, after they had kids and change the floor plans (depending on how many bedrooms were needed). The front yard was often left as is (other than a vegetable garden added).

I don't remember whether my first sim lived in the Pre-Fabulous house or Mosquito Cove. Mosquito Cove was my favorite, even though I couldn't buy it furnished for a sim starting out, but when I wanted a fully furnished house, I used Pre-Fabulous. I didn't know about cheats and free real estate back then.

Well, my first ever home in Sims 3 was a starter home in Sunset Valley. It had a 1 car garage, 1 bedroom, and a small yard. My family never moved away and they both died in that very house with no children. The game literally ends when that happens. I almost never played again after that- it was pretty heartbreaking.

This family lasted a while- I found the sliders for Age! They had kids and it was going really well for quite a long time until I reformatted my harddrive after forgetting to back up their saved game files.

Love that Victorian ranch house, @Nabril!

The first house I moved a sim into was the Dog Patch in Riverview. It's two bedroom design for just over 15k was a great starter not too far from the center of town with a little park nearby with garden plants.
