So I was hoping I could just bang my backup folder into documents and run the sims 3 as though nothing happened.unfortunately, for some reason, my store content won't show in game, nor will it let me install it. I need to clear out all the dccache and stuff folders so I can redownload and reinstall.i saved all my nraas settings but can't seem to find them in any of the folders. what folder does it save to?

There is a very small town in the state of Vermont that we are fond of. The mod's settings get saved there in a large barn on the outskirts of the map. (okay, this is just me trying to be funny and failing; please before the hate mail starts rolling in, I just picked that state totally at random and have nothing against players who happen to be from Vermont). :p Exported mod settings, when we use Overwatch to export them all or one of the other mods with that function to export singly, do get stored in the Library folder as an item that if it is not renamed will look just like any other Library file. From there they await a subsequent import into another game save. If you do an Overwatch import, it will recognize only exported settings as possibilities to use and will ignore everything else in that folder.But this might not be what is meant. Without having done an export, mod settings are game save and world specific, and are stored in the game save, in the actual nhd file of the associated world that had been played.

it was the only thing stopping me from playing again, the pain of configuring all the mods all over again :D
my backup sims folder just wasn't working, store content didnt want to load etc so had to do a clean start so put it off for so long. then had a bit of a duh brain moment, just export and the newest file created will be the nraas settings :D
no more spending days configuring on fresh installs woot
