I would like a blending of both. There's a sort of graphic realism in 3 that will never exist in 4 which can make story telling hard. As well, with everything being in the same bright, candy colors and tone it's near impossible to create a darker more brooding mood. 3 also has FAR MORE depth to the texturing of EVERYTHING. 4 is very flat and smooth like everything is constructed in plastic. 4 has come along some in that department but I think there's only so far the game can go. I think people found it hard constructing sims in 3 but otherwise I never understood the pudding face complaint. I think if you scan through the 4 gallery now you'll find the same sim over and over and over. There seems to be very little variation in the sim creation in 4 just like in 3 but without the complaints. Overall though, I do like sim creation in 4 better as it's easier to achieve the general look I was after but only by a small percent and due to the game's emotional mechanic it's again very difficult to get a more brooding, darker look to a sim. The entire iteration seems to be a very young child's early morning cartoon program with bright sunlight and bright faces and happy times everywhere.
