why cant i get my sim pregnant with a fairy and a vampire!!???

i read somewhere the even though the baby cant be mixed theres a 50 50 chances that the baby is born either a fairy or a vampire but everytime i click try for baby days pass and she doesn get pregnan...

Are they in their human form, or at least the fairy? I could not get my human girl pregnant because the husband was in his werewolf form. I changed him back, tried again, and she got pregnant.
