Why don't the plants age and die in the Stones Throw greenhouse lot?

I want to build my own Visitors Allowed greenhouse with a wider range of plants. I built a new lot yesterday, and already the Death Plant has died. What is there on the Stones Throw greenhouse lot that prevents this happening? (Otherwise I shall simply demolish the original Stones Throw lot and try building on it to see if the non ageing still exists.)
